Why does the Galaxy Z Fold 8 have those ugly hinge bumps, while Apple’s iPhone Duo doesn’t? After comparing both phones in person, examining how their hinges move, and researching Samsung’s patents, I think I’ve found the most plausible explanation 🧵👇

Curious of this is actually a massive design flaw or just a manufacturing issue due to the extremely tight tolerances there. I'd guess it's the second one because otherwise it would effect essentially all units

The new Reply Bar with the 𝕏 Liquid Glass redesign. 👀 The reply bar now floats above the nav bar as a glass pill, with your avatar and a send button. Tap it and it morphs into a bigger reply box. Swipe down and it shrinks back to the bar, keeping your draft inside. I love how fluid this feels. Liquid Glass fits 𝕏 so well!

yes, i’ll also pass on iPhone Duo because it can’t handle a lighter being held to the screen for 10 seconds

Was on the fence with iPhone Duo. But will definitely pass on the $2,000 phone after it failed: ▫️dirt test (gets stuck in hinge and magnetic closing doesn’t work) ▫️lighter test (inner screen can’t handle 10 seconds of direct flame) ▫️bend test (OLED screen gets line defect)

🎥 idanbo
