They're flexing.
A Robotaxi from COTA (F1 race track) back to downtown Austin costs about $76/$78 ($4 per mile) right now vs over $112 (~$6 per mile) for Uber.

how much unnecessary bureaucracy do they have?

Tesla’s Robotaxi fleet utilization (unsupervised miles per day per vehicle) has risen steadily since July, from the low-40s to the low-100s today. We estimated this by combining Texas DMV registrations (Cybercab + Model Y) with Florida vehicle counts from public trackers, then dividing the reported unsupervised mileage growth by the fleet size. Mileage is compounding faster than the fleet is expanding, meaning the cars already on the road are being used more intensively. Even so, utilization is still well below Waymo’s typical 200 miles per day per vehicle, so Tesla has substantial headroom to increase usage further as the network matures.

Unpopular opinion: Elon just did what the US government told him to on this matter. Still, he probably agreed and did it with good intentions, but good intentions can have disastrous outcomes. In hindsight, instead of giving Starlink to Ukraine, allowing them to sign the deal in Istanbul instead of talking them out of it would have been a far better outcome for Ukraine. But the US and the EU wanted war. And Ukraine was destroyed.
Ukraine would have been overrun 10 times over if not for Musk giving them Starlink early on and denying Russia Starlink. The whole idea that he's some kind of monster because he also doesn't want people dying by the tens of thousands for nothing is insanity pushed by bad actors

In 2008, $TSLA had just $9 million in cash. The company was fighting for survival. Then Mercedes came to the rescue. In May 2009, they invested $50 million in Tesla for a 9% stake, valuing the entire company at roughly $550 million. Elon Musk later admitted that without their money, Tesla probably wouldn’t have survived. But here’s where the story gets interesting. Mercedes sold 40% of its original stake just months after investing. Then, in October 2014, it sold its remaining Tesla shares for approximately $780 million. An incredible investment. A massive profit. Mercedes executives probably celebrated that deal for years. And who could blame them? Except
Now, Tesla was worth approximately $1.47 TRILLION. From a $550 million valuation to $1.47 trillion. They made a fortune betting on Tesla’s survival, but missed the overwhelming majority of its future growth. There’s a valuable investing lesson here. You can buy the right company, at the right price, make an absolute fortune, and still sell way too early. Sometimes the hardest part of investing isn’t knowing when to buy. It’s having the patience to hold.

People in America constantly call us retards in Europe for having put ourselves in this mess. I am not denying our responsability. But look at this, and now imagine that there is no political force that represents a true alternative. All the parties in Europe are pro-EU. You will say, what about the AfD? Well, they just flipped. Instead of leaving the EU, they now want to "reform it from inside". Well, we all know how that will end. And the tragedy is that if you are in the EU, all the rest follows: you loose control of your borders, of your currency and of your foreign policy. Whatever the discontent these people have, no political force in Europe can provide a solution. We are stuck in new type of USSR. Our votes do not count, there is no escape. The EU will continue to destroy our countries, like a parasite killing the host.
1848 vibes in France.

Considering the disaster this war has been, Ukraine would have been better off without assistance. Many lives would have been saved, for the same end result.
Elon Musk was one of the first to give Ukraine meaningful assistance, providing Starlink for civilian use in the early stage of the war. At the same time, most of Europe was still sending billions to Russia for oil and gas, yet these are the same people who lecture him for not wanting to prolong a war that has already killed hundreds of thousands. The audacity!

It won't change anything. The whole political class is made of globalist traitors. The French people have no alternative to choose from. The system is locked in.
The Worlds most powerful man, Vladimir Putin, has instructed 800,000 French people to take to the streets. Kremlin operatives are also on the streets of Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Belgium, Austria, and Albania Its all Russias fault.

Why did it take years for Elon to realize that Starlink was used for non civilian purposes?đŸ€”
Replying to @jamiedupree
Exactly. Starlink’s terms have remained consistent as a civilian system, not a means of killing. Violation of those terms will result in end of service. Starshield use is a decision of the US government. End of story.

Water is wet.
What’s actually going on in Ukraine is that there is a massive incentive difference between the elites and the people. The former have grown very rich off the hundreds of billions flowing to Ukraine, while the latter’s children are conscripted to die in trenches.

We won't be able to vote our way out of this mess. We will have to go through a total collapse.
