Harrison Ford: When dozens of former members of the Trump administration are sounding alarms saying āFor God's sake, don't do this again,ā you have to pay attention. They're telling us something important. I've got one vote, same as anyone else, and I'm going to use it to move forward. I'm going to vote for Kamala Harris

Wow.
Hereās Robert De Niroās full statement about how Donald Trump should NEVER be president again:
āIāve spent a lot of time studying bad men.Ā Iāve examined their characteristics, their mannerisms, the utter banality of their cruelty.
Yet thereās something different about Donald Trump. When I look at him, I donāt see a bad man. Truly.
I see an evil one.
Over the years, Iāve met gangsters here and there. This guy tries to be one, but he canāt quite pull it off. Thereās such a thing as āhonor among thieves.ā Yes, even criminals usually have a sense of right and wrong.Ā
Whether they do the right thing or not is a different story ā but ā they have a moral code, however warped.
Donald Trump does not. Heās a wannabe tough guy with no morals or ethics. No sense of right or wrong. No regard forĀ anyoneĀ but himself ā not the people he was supposed to lead and protect, not the people he does business with, not the people who follow him, blindly and loyally, not even the people who consider themselves his āfriends.ā He has contempt for all of them.
We New Yorkers got to know him over the years that he poisoned the atmosphere and littered our city with monuments to his ego.Ā We knew first hand that this was someone who should never be considered for leadership.Ā We tried to warn the world in 2016.
The repercussions of his turbulent presidency divided America and rattled New York City beyond imagination.Ā Remember how we were jolted by crisis in early 2020, as a virus swept the world.
We lived with Donald TrumpāsĀ bombastic behaviorĀ every day on the national stage, and we suffered as we saw our neighbors piling up inĀ body bags.
The man who was supposed to protect this country put it in peril, because of his recklessness and impulsiveness. It was like an abusive father ruling the family by fear and violent behavior.Ā That was the consequence of New Yorkās warning getting ignored. Next time, we know it will be worse.
Make no mistake: the twice-impeached, 4-time indicted Donald Trump is still a fool. But we canāt let our fellow Americans write him off like one. Evil thrives in the shadow of dismissive mockery, which is why we must take the danger of Donald Trump very seriously.
So today we issue another warning. From this place where Abraham Lincoln spoke ā right here in the beating heart of New York ā to the rest of America:
This is our last chance.
Democracy wonāt survive the return of a wannabe dictator.
And it wonāt overcome evil if we are divided.
So what do we do about it?Ā I know Iām preaching to the choir here.Ā What weāre doing today is valuable, but we have to take today into tomorrow ā take it outside these walls. Ā We have to reach out to the half of our country who have ignored the hazards of Trump and, for whatever reason, support elevating him back into the White House.Ā
Theyāre not stupid, and we must not condemn them for making a stupid choice.Ā Our future doesnāt just depend on us. It depends on them.
Letās reach out to Trumpās followers with respect.Ā Letās not talk about ādemocracy.āĀ āDemocracyā may be our holy grail, but to others it is just a word, a concept, and in their embrace of Trump, theyāve already turned their backs on it.Ā
Letās talk about right and wrong.Ā Letās talk about humanity.Ā
Letās talk about kindness.Ā Security for our world.Ā
Safety for our families.Ā
Decency.Ā
Letās welcome them back.Ā
We wonāt get them all, but we can get enough to end the nightmare of Trump, and fulfill the mission of this āStop Trump Summit.ā

Spot on. Well done Nate White.
A British writer penned the best description of Donald Trump Iāve ever read:
āWhy do some British people not like Donald Trump?ā
A few things spring to mind. Trump lacks certain qualities which the British traditionally esteem. For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour and no grace ā all qualities, funnily enough, with which his predecessor Mr. Obama was generously blessed. So for us, the stark contrast does rather throw Trumpās limitations into embarrassingly sharp relief.
Plus, we like a laugh. And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing ā not once, ever. I donāt say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever. And that fact is particularly disturbing to the British sensibility ā for us, to lack humour is almost inhuman. But with Trump, itās a fact. He doesnāt even seem to understand what a joke is ā his idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty.
Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers. And scarily, he doesnāt just talk in crude, witless insults ā he actually thinks in them. His mind is a simple bot-like algorithm of petty prejudices and knee-jerk nastiness.
There is never any under-layer of irony, complexity, nuance or depth. Itās all surface. Some Americans might see this as refreshingly upfront. Well, we donāt. We see it as having no inner world, no soul. And in Britain we traditionally side with David, not Goliath. All our heroes are plucky underdogs: Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Oliver Twist. Trump is neither plucky, nor an underdog. He is the exact opposite of that. Heās not even a spoiled rich-boy, or a greedy fat-cat. Heās more a fat white slug. A Jabba the Hutt of privilege.
And worse, he is that most unforgivable of all things to the British: a bully. That is, except when he is among bullies; then he suddenly transforms into a snivelling sidekick instead. There are unspoken rules to this stuff ā the Queensberry rules of basic decency ā and he breaks them all. He punches downwards ā which a gentleman should, would, could never do ā and every blow he aims is below the belt. He particularly likes to kick the vulnerable or voiceless ā and he kicks them when they are down.
So the fact that a significant minority ā perhaps a third ā of Americans look at what he does, listen to what he says, and then think āYeah, he seems like my kind of guyā is a matter of some confusion and no little distress to British people, given that:
⢠Americans are supposed to be nicer than us, and mostly are.
⢠You donāt need a particularly keen eye for detail to spot a few flaws in the man.
This last point is what especially confuses and dismays British people, and many other people too; his faults seem pretty bloody hard to miss. After all, itās impossible to read a single tweet, or hear him speak a sentence or two, without staring deep into the abyss. He turns being artless into an art form; he is a Picasso of pettiness; a Shakespeare of shit. His faults are fractal: even his flaws have flaws, and so on ad infinitum. God knows there have always been stupid people in the world, and plenty of nasty people too. But rarely has stupidity been so nasty, or nastiness so stupid. He makes Nixon look trustworthy and George W look smart. In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws ā he would make a Trump.
And a remorseful Doctor Frankenstein would clutch out big clumpfuls of hair and scream in anguish: āMy God⦠what⦠have⦠I⦠created?' If being a twat was a TV show, Trump would be the boxed set.ā
