Time for a new pinned tweet. Been a game tech dev for 20 years, doing mostly engine work + supporting toolchain for AAA titles. Game portfolio here: mobygames.com/person/103579/…. Needed a change of scenery, so now into medical imaging, working on 3d visualizations of CT scans and surrounding surgery planning software.
You'll find me tweeting (mostly replying) about software development (C++ and Rust, perhaps a bit of asm and general low level tech) and IT tech. And other unrelated things. Or retweeting stuff I find very funny.

Can't comment in thread because Kurt has me blocked for some reason, but that `#define for if (false); else for` trick was pretty ubiquitous at the time. I learnt it in the late 90s and I've never done anything with boost.
Here's me sharing it on a Dutch forum in 2001:

I found the '#define for' trick was in the Boost documentation. Specifically the page for how to be portable with VC6. This is the docs for the Boost version that t4t5 says Satoshi used:

I think it makes the most sense to assume Satoshi got it from that.

Hij stond standaard op die van ING, maar op een of andere manier kan de ING bankieren app die QR code niet scannen. Het lukte weer wel met de algemene ideal-wero QR code.

In Nederland is het strafbaar om jezelf de titel "drs." (doctorandus) te geven als je niet gerechtigd bent om die titel te voeren.**
De titel **drs.** is een wettelijk beschermde academische titel. Je mag hem alleen gebruiken als je daadwerkelijk een universitaire master (of vroeger het doctoraal examen) hebt behaald in een studierichting die daartoe gerechtigt (niet-rechten, niet-technisch aan TU). Dit volgt uit de **Wet op het hoger onderwijs en wetenschappelijk onderzoek (WHW)**.
Het onbevoegd voeren van zo'n titel valt onder **artikel 435 van het Wetboek van Strafrecht** (derde lid). Dit artikel stelt het voeren van een titel of graad in de zin van de WHW zonder daartoe gerechtigd te zijn strafbaar. Het is een **overtreding**, waar een geldboete van de tweede categorie op staat (momenteel maximaal ongeveer €4.350, afhankelijk van de indexering).
Kort samengevat:
- Heb je een relevante WO-master afgerond? → Dan mag je **drs.** voor je naam zetten (of master-graad achter je naam gebruiken).
- Heb je géén doctoraal/master-diploma dat recht geeft op drs.? → Dan is het dragen van "drs." strafbaar.
- Zomaar zelf "drs." toevoegen zonder diploma = onbevoegd titel voeren → ja, strafbaar.

Seriously, @krakenfx, your wallet verification process is a joke. The integration with Ledger Live never works because it always signs from the wrong address. And the Satoshi method is a shitshow because it requires sending from an address that is typically already emptied (so you need a total of 3 transactions to deposit something)
