Not gonna lie. I'd like to see both Paxton and El Sayed lose next week. Regardless of what happens in the big picture, I'd love for both parties to lose big, winnable races because they had no shame.

This is literally condemning people who helped us to death. And probably in most cases a really shitty death, too.
Breaking News: The Trump administration has detained dozens of Afghan immigrants in Louisiana — including relatives of those who helped the U.S. military — and plans to deport them to Afghanistan, according to U.S. officials. nyti.ms/4jPVvrw

100 years from now, there'll be a murderer against a rapist on the ballot and we'll hear we have to vote for the lesser of the two evils or else. The only way you don't get there is to show up and vote now but leave the lines of awful candidates blank.

Vladimir Putin has shut down Russia’s last independent newspaper. The Russian president has ordered the closure of Novaya Gazeta after 33 years. It had previously been placed on a state enemies list. The newspaper, which is known for its critical coverage of Russian political and social affairs, has been classed as a “foreign agent” by Moscow.

Some things that British voters have forgotten. 🔴Making a profit is no vice. 🔴Inequality is not evil. 🔴The fact that tax cuts chiefly benefit people who pay taxes is not an argument against them. 🔴Governments spend money less well than you do. 🔴There’s no such thing as a free lunch.

“It’s a new Republican Party! We want the Bushes and the Cornyns to GET THE HELL OUT— hey where are you going?!”
If John Cornyn and George W. Bush loved America they would put personal differences w/Ken Paxton aside and support his candidacy for the sake of Texas and the nation. Their unforgivable silence tells us EVERYTHING about them. VOTE FOR KEN PAXTON!

Amy Acton ad in Ohio: Totally blew up in Vivek's face. Mary Peltola recruiting Dan Sullivan: Totally blew up in Peltola's face. Trump gerrymandering everywhere: Totally blowing up in GOPs face. Maybe the lesson here is instead of doing scumbag political trickery you just try to go win our votes on the merits!

I appreciate the positive attention from new corners of the political Twitterverse. But if you’re a Democrat who opposes these actions by Republicans but supports any of them from your own party, you also missed the point of the article.

Interesting data point from the TSU survey — 98% of people who have a favorable opinion of Jasmine Crockett are voting for Talarico. But among people who have a favorable opinion of John Cornyn, Paxton is only winning 68%.
Two new TX polls this morning: TSU: #TXSEN: 🔵Talarico: 49% (+1) 🔴Paxton: 47% (+1) #TXGOV: 🔴Abbott: 50% (+1) 🔵Hinojosa: 47 (+1) CNN: #TXSEN 🔵Talarico: 49% 🔴Paxton: 43% #TXGOV 🔴Abbott: 48% 🔵Hinojosa: 46%

We'll see, but the polls out of Texas are earthquake stuff. No TX Dem has polled as well as Talarico at the end of a Senate campaign since 1988. No TX GOP Sen nominee in the 2000s has been as unpopular as Paxton. Trump's the most unpopular GOP pres pre-midterm in the 2000s.

We all know the type. First, if you oppose their candidate, they insult and try to bully you with names like RINO or squish or even cuck and say, "Good riddance. We don’t need you." That’s stage 1. In Stage 2, their guy either wins or loses a primary. If they win, they insult and bully the losing candidate and his or her supporters, often also telling them to take a hike from their party. But they know on some level that they are wrong, and the greater their insecurity, the more ferocious and intense their insults and bullying. It’s human nature, In Stage 3, where we are now, the policy and character flaws of their candidates are thoroughly exposed and their candidate falls behind in the polls in a general election that should have been a layup. The same people who insulted and tried to bully you and sent you "bye Felicia" memes a few months ago are now demanding that you be a "team player" and vote for their guy. That’s how they see politics — solely as a team sport. They are incapable of thinking of politics on any strategic or philosophical level, and TOTALLY incapable of seeing any longer-term consequences from supporting the very worst people they can find with the pretext being only that in their minds, the other side is even worse. We need to break this cycle. The best way to do it is with your vote, or your non-vote. I hate to break it to everyone, but your one single vote is not going to change the result of an election. Either the voters as a collective will decide or, in a very close election, some judge or set of judges will decide. Not you. This means that you can use your vote any way you choose, including sending a message to both sides to stop offering us unfit, unqualified candidates for public office.

There are sound, valid reasons for *a* war with Iran. But Trump has never really had a coherent plan or objective for *this* war with Iran.
Once again, let us turn to the wisdom of Stephen Covey and his adage, “Begin with the end in mind.” What is it we actually want to achieve regarding the Iranian regime? Does the administration want to topple the regime? Apparently not, because you don’t negotiate with a regime you’re aiming to topple. But if you believe that the primary problem with the Iranian regime is the Iranian regime, and that a group that regularly chants “death to America” can never be a partner in peace or even a détente-style policy of non-hostility, then your long-term goal must be regime change, and your shorter-term goals must be weakening, countering, and deterring the regime. (Recall that Trump fumed in August,“Iranian Leadership is unbelievably duplicitous!” Well, some of us find them believably duplicitous.)
