Every last bone in my body was screaming at me to just get back into my warm bed. Remember I said "I still can't believe what I just saw" a couple of days ago? This is it.
I knew there was a chance that there would be some Aurora but I definitely didn't expect a meteorite to come right through the scene. I couldn't go back to sleep I was so excited.
I've been attempting to learn deep space astrophotography for the past few months. Would you guys and gals be interested in seeing my progress every now and again?
This was the Orian Nebula in the UP of Michigan for 6hrs taken with 20 second sub frames.
It turns out that the Lake Superior side of Michigan still has colorful leaves due to the (relatively) warm waters of the lake keeping the temperature on the coast just a bit higher at night.
My eyes have not seen this much color contrasts from the blues of the water to the oranges and reds of the trees.
Usually once the leaves fall off the trees the tourists go home or somewhere where it's still peak season for fall colors. Personally, I like when a lot of the leaves fell off of the trees, the make for the perfect foregrounds.

Idaho Senator Kevin Cook published an op-ed saying he is planning to sponsor Meta's App Store Accountability Act in the 2027 legislative session.
He seems to be under the impression the bill has something to do with "adult content graphic material" when it does not.
The App Store Accountability Act is a de facto digital ID. It will force every Idahoan to provide ID age verification just to download apps from the app stores. Not just children...everyone!! The bill also requires verified parent-child linking. That means MORE personal data to prove that you are the adult legally responsible for the child.
This nonsense about "put parents back in the driver's seat" is a blatant lie. Parents can already control app downloads on their child's device without having to surrender personal data.
One of my favorite aspects of fall is how the light hitting the leaves reflects rich warm tones onto it's surroundings including the cement similar to a sunset.
This tree made it against all odds. It doesn't complain or get resentful, it just does what it needs to do.
I wholeheartedly agree, qualified immunity shouldn't exist for those who without a warrant, bust into a property and unalive a baby donkey, (like Hee Haw) or any pet which happens all too often.
It's funny how you can have sun on one side of the Goldengate bridge and it be storming by the time you cross it.
Who would've thought that this beautiful mountain existed in Georgia? Certainly not I until I saw it with my own peepers.
It's been a lonnnnng day already and I don't have much to say so I'll just let the photo speak for itself this time.
I saw the sun reflecting off of this erroded natural pothole earlier in the day which gave me the idea to see if you could see the milkyway that night. I was ecstatic when I could see it clear as could be.

If I don't push my creativity in photography then I can get pretty apathetic, therefore I'm always doing it.
In this photo, I strategically (so I thought) placed my phone into this little mini cave area, (not sure the technical term) and put it on a three second timer. I had to grab it and move it before the wave you saw in the background hit.
It took me a good while to get it how I envisioned, and ultimately I ruined my last phone with this photo, as I didn't get it out of there before a few of those waves splashed up.
I love the feeling you get on a full moonrise. No matter where I'm at, I always have a sense of familiarity, like I've been there before. I often wonder if I'm the only one.

NBC just talked to five people who got pulled over, held at gunpoint, or detained after Flock cameras spit out false alerts. One electrician stopped at a Chick-fil-A in Lafayette, Indiana, and officers surrounded his work truck with guns drawn because a plate misread flagged it as stolen. Another person sat in jail for nearly two weeks over the same kind of error.
These aren’t rare glitches. Flock’s system scans every car, matches against hot lists, and treats a probabilistic hit like certainty. Innocent drivers become high-risk stops with no probable cause. This is mass surveillance doing exactly what critics warned it would.

I was in Tennessee twice and the first time I didn't get a great view of it, but this time was different. These falls and the state in general in Fall were absolutely breathtaking.
It makes me wonder how many other places that I've been to that I may have wrote off too quickly.
