Idaho Senator Kevin Cook published an op-ed saying he is planning to sponsor Meta's App Store Accountability Act in the 2027 legislative session.
He seems to be under the impression the bill has something to do with "adult content graphic material" when it does not.
The App Store Accountability Act is a de facto digital ID. It will force every Idahoan to provide ID age verification just to download apps from the app stores. Not just children...everyone!! The bill also requires verified parent-child linking. That means MORE personal data to prove that you are the adult legally responsible for the child.
This nonsense about "put parents back in the driver's seat" is a blatant lie. Parents can already control app downloads on their child's device without having to surrender personal data.

NBC just talked to five people who got pulled over, held at gunpoint, or detained after Flock cameras spit out false alerts. One electrician stopped at a Chick-fil-A in Lafayette, Indiana, and officers surrounded his work truck with guns drawn because a plate misread flagged it as stolen. Another person sat in jail for nearly two weeks over the same kind of error.
These arenāt rare glitches. Flockās system scans every car, matches against hot lists, and treats a probabilistic hit like certainty. Innocent drivers become high-risk stops with no probable cause. This is mass surveillance doing exactly what critics warned it would.

New: Through a series of complex agreements with cities, the White House built a massive license plate camera database accessible to the feds. The program aggregates data across license plate companies (Flock, Axon, more) & is searchable by many agencies:

A military expert says ALPR systems like Flock and Axon are the same as military systems they used against foreign enemies.
Pattern-of-life analysis was how they targeted and killed the enemy.
And now they are pointing these killing systems at we the people.
"I swore an oath to the Constitution of the United States. That oath did not end just because I took off my uniform. That is why I traveled to these chambers -because I have used a comparable system against American enemies and I know what it's capable of, and I can see the danger of pointing the system at the American people."

If Sen. Josh Hawley actually cares about stopping Flock cameras, he can propose an amendment to the Senate version of the $580 billion, five-year reauthorization of federal surface transportation programs, which has yet to be written.
The amendment is: "A recipient of assistance under Title 23, United States Code, may not use automated license plate readers for any purpose other than tolling."
Simply put, this amendment would withhold about $ 1 billion in annual Federal funding for roads in that state if it used ALPR cameras for anything other than toll roads.
Most likely, zero states would turn down $1 billion a year to keep Flock or ALPR cameras, so this would effectively ban them.
@HawleyMO, will you take this action?
NEW: Sen. Josh Hawley on Flock cameras: āIām very worried about [them].ā
āIf youāre a guy who has one Flock camera, you shouldnāt be able to look up private citizensā information a continent away.

Hackers ripped a Flock camera off a pole, dumped what was stored on it, and handed the files to WIRED and 404 Media.
One camera. 21 days.
~50,000 vehicles. 1.6 million images. About 3,300 cars a day. Peak day: 4,454.
Flock sold this as ālicense plate readersā with on-device encryption. The software on that box wasnāt just reading plates. It was tagging vehicles, bikes, and people. Dozens of shots of a single car. Bumper stickers. Even an American flag patch on a motorcycle bag.
They put the encryption key on the camera. Then acted shocked when somebody opened it.

Wait until someone tells our citizens how nobody was allowed to export oil up until 2015. We could've just renationalized it again this whole time and had extremely low gas prices since we're an exporter nation now.

Sorry, but it's not just Anthropic. Palantir has been working on predictive policing and surveillance of dissidents for the US government for well over a decade. The goal of the Bush admin immediately after 9/11 was pre-crime via "Total Information Awareness" and they have been building it ever since, through the privatization of that program as Palantir. And there are other companies working toward this end to, all with ties to US intelligence or top US officials (Satellogic, SpaceX, Axon/Carbyne, etc.)
Anthropic may be "building" their own private equivalent, but this is something the government and its other private contractors have already built. Under the first Trump admin, Bill Barr as AG created the legal framework for pre-crime. They are just waiting on the right excuse or justification to scale it.
We have to realize how far along this is if we really want to stop it. It is now many companies ushering in a pre-crime paradigm, all with State backing.
Anthropic Is building a surveillance system to monitor activists using a āpre-crimeā approach that tries to predict incidents before they happen.
The extensive monitoring system that the AI company is building is aimed primarily at keeping tabs on activists who oppose the rapid development of artificial intelligence.

ā ļø 7 Ways Axon Is Flock on Steroids
1. Axon Lightpost turns existing streetlights into ALPR, livestreaming & vehicle-recognition cameras, using the poleās existing power.
2. Axon Outpost can be deployed on existing poles, buildings, vehicles, trailers or even trees, creating mobile or fixed surveillance points.
3. Axon Fusus integrates live video, footage from ALPR, body cameras, squad cars, drones, and third-party cameras into a single searchable, real time operational view for police departments.
4. Axon Vision uses "Smart Detection" AI to analyze connected camera feeds and generate real time alerts about specified activity.
5. Institutional giants are major Axon shareholders. BlackRock, Vanguard and State Street are among its major institutional investors.
6. Flock defaults to short-term retention. Axon can retain evidence for up to 99 years. Axon Evidence lets agencies configure retention periods from 1 day to 99 years.
7. Flock tracks a plate. Axon tracks a personās timeline. Who they interacted with, where they walked, what officers saw, what drones recorded, what sensors flagged. Axon isn't just watching you. Its ecosystem connects surveillance to police dispatch, evidence, records, officer technology and TASER weapons.

Now that half the country is doxxed, it would be a good time to take note of the politicians who didn't listen.

Clearly you don't get out into nature if you think we need more data centers to live and think we should occupy the land we all can recreate on for them.
You might as well just live in a pod now, own nothing, and be happy. Don't forget to put a flock camera in there to keep yourself safe...

Remember everybody, Jury duty is a privilege, not a burden.
A jury can completely ignore stupid laws (nullification) or make sure a truly guilty person gets the rope.
And ANY matter that has to do with over $25 can have a Jury added into the case. Often the police and corrupt judges know a law is stupid and unpopular so if you plead Not Guilty and request a trial by a Jury of your Peers.. you will often see the charges just dropped.. or in this case nullified.
Juryās are where statist pigs and corrupt DAās can be publicly humiliated. Do everything in your power to get jury duty, because I sure as heck will.
