I will talk about this more in my article but I want to reiterate my pre-draft take that this Wizards team is not built to complement AJ's strengths as a player and the Wizards need to be more aggressive when it comes to trading to build around him.
I'm going to have to change my profile picture back to Wes Unseld because some people seem to believe this is a Boozer stan account. Nothing I say about any rookie in the 2026 class is because of Boozer standom. I just think it's fun that he makes a lot of outlet passes.

#Mizzou has had a somewhat rocky start to its 2026-27 campaign, but Jamier Jones has been great.
13 pts and 10 rebs (6 offensive) against SLU earlier, in just 19 minutes of play.
Still feels like Dennis Gates hasn't figured out how to unlock him, but Jones is just a gamer.

Kyshawn George’s physicality was loud in person
finally looks comfortable with his frame after that crazy growth spurt at Miami, huge reason why he’s currently the 2nd most efficient PNR scorer in the league, .50 FTR on PNRs is nice as well
I have some important work deadlines to hit next week but after that I will resume writing. First some Wizards analysis and then I'll jump back in to draft coverage.
AJ's processing with the ball in his hands is super slow. Arguably the biggest pre-draft concern with him. Compare to Flemings who looks totally in control of the game leading this Hawks offense.
Imagine telling a new basketball fan that Deandre Ayton was once a featured player on a team that went to the finals this decade.

You cannot teach Dylan Mingo's hand-held coordination, ground coverage and instincts. He's so impressive on D and his connective passing skills are good as well
I am still hashtag bullish on Grünloh long term. Not sure how I feel about de Ridder yet but the improvements are there.
The Wizards are 8th in rim frequency (29.3% of their total shot attempts) but they're also 5th in midrange freq (34.4%) which I really do not like. This will naturally happen with AD (4.3 midr att. per game) and Trae (2 att.) on your team. AJ, Kyshawn and Tre love that shot too.
HC Brian Keefe gives an honest assessment of the #Wizards eight games into the regular season
"We're going to be a team that attacks the paint. We're a big team"

Kyshawn George has had a drastic Creation rts% leap, despite his college 22 TOV% w/ an offball role: 17 USG%. Yet, according to HALI, he was 99th %ile in the intersection of UA2%, AST/USG, 3par & 3p%, getting to the rim and playmaking at an outlier rate compared to other shooters
