THE FIRST THING HIS WIFE NOTICED WAS THAT HE STOPPED COMING INTO THE KITCHEN TO STEAL MEAT FROM THE POT.
For twenty-six years, that had been his habit.
Whenever she was cooking, he would walk into the kitchen pretending to look for water.
Then quietly remove two pieces of meat.
She would shout his name.
He would laugh and disappear.
It was their little routine.
Then diabetes began changing their lives.
First came the constant thirst.
Then the frequent urination.
The tiredness he kept dismissing.
And eventually, a wound on his foot that refused to heal.
Hospital visits became more frequent.
The man who used to complain that his wife didn’t put enough meat in the soup now sometimes struggled to finish his meals.
One afternoon, while preparing dinner, she caught herself setting aside two pieces of meat.
Then she remembered he was still in the hospital.
She stood there holding the spoon.
And cried.
SOMETIMES WHAT YOU MISS MOST ABOUT SOMEONE IS SOMETHING YOU USED TO COMPLAIN ABOUT.
Now, here’s something I wish more families understood.
Diabetes is not simply a matter of avoiding sugar in your tea.
A person can stop drinking soft drinks and still struggle with blood sugar control because nobody has helped them understand their entire eating pattern.
They receive a list of forbidden foods.
They stop eating three things.
They become afraid of another five.
Eventually, eating becomes a daily exercise in confusion.
And that’s where proper nutritional guidance becomes important.
Your meals should reflect your health condition, medications, nutritional needs and daily routine.
Not whatever diet somebody forwarded to your family WhatsApp group.
YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL YOUR HEALTH HAS SERIOUSLY DETERIORATED BEFORE TAKING YOUR NUTRITION SERIOUSLY.
If you’re managing diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol or another condition that requires nutritional attention, don’t keep guessing your way through meals.
Get a properly structured nutritional plan suited to your circumstances, alongside your medical care.

Stop lying.
Shawarma can be delicious — but most of what you buy on the street isn’t food, it’s a health trap in foil.
That “meat” is often processed and packed with preservatives.
That mayo? It’s literally fat and sugar mixed in a jar.
That bread? Refined carbs that spike your blood sugar faster than you think.
You’re not chewing shawarma — you’re chewing calories, sugar and seed oils disguised as lunch.
Keep eating it every week, and your body will send you the bill: bloated belly, clogged arteries, and fatigue.
Your Instagram flex today could be your medical report tomorrow.
Eat smart, not just tasty.
Don't forget to reach out for a well-structured meal plan. Share and tag your friends.

SOME OF YOU HAVE BEEN TIRED FOR SO LONG THAT YOU NO LONGER REMEMBER WHAT HAVING ENERGY FEELS LIKE.
You wake up tired.
Go to work tired.
Come home tired.
Even on weekends, when you’re supposed to rest, you’re still tired.
And whenever somebody asks how you’re doing, your answer is always the same.
“I’m fine. Just tired.”
My brother, you’ve been just tired since Buhari was president.
At what point are you going to ask why?
Sometimes it’s poor sleep. Sometimes it’s stress, inadequate nutrition, anaemia or an underlying health condition.
And sometimes your body is simply exhausted from the life you’re forcing it to live.
You cannot keep sleeping four hours, eating anyhow, working yourself into the ground and expecting your body to behave like a brand-new Toyota.
PLEASE, DON’T BECOME SO ACCUSTOMED TO FEELING TERRIBLE THAT YOU START CALLING IT NORMAL.
You deserve to know why you’re always tired.

MY INHERITED LAND HAS BEEN TAKEN, AND MY HEART IS BROKEN!
Today, I speak with a pain that words alone cannot express. Terrorists have seized my inherited farmland and shared the plots among themselves as though the land never belonged to my family.
Can you imagine working, sacrificing, and holding on to the inheritance of your fathers, only to wake up one day and discover that strangers have taken possession of everything your ancestors left behind?
This is not just about land. It is about history, family, identity, survival, and the inheritance of generations yet unborn.
What have we done to deserve this? Must we abandon everything our fathers left for us simply because we are afraid for our lives? Must our children grow up without knowing the land their grandparents laboured to preserve?
I am a servant of God, but I am also a human being with a family, a history, and a heritage. How long must we continue to watch everything we own disappear before our very eyes?
If terrorists can seize our farms and divide our inherited lands among themselves, where is the security of the ordinary Nigerian? Who will speak for the helpless? Who will protect the inheritance of those who have no power to defend themselves?
I ask the world today: If this were happening to your family, would you remain silent? If someone seized the inheritance of your children, would you simply walk away?
I am not asking for sympathy alone. I am crying out for justice, protection, and the right to live peacefully on the land that belongs to us.
As Psalm 24:1 declares, "The earth is the LORD's, and the fulness thereof."
We will continue to pray, speak, and seek justice. Our inheritance should not become the reward of those who terrorise innocent people.
How many more families must lose their ancestral homes and farmlands before the world decides that enough is enough?
May God remember the suffering people of Nigeria. Amen.

INIBEHE EFFIONG CONDEMNS FORCED ATTENDANCE AT TINUBU’S CAMPAIGN EVENT IN AKWA IBOM
CALLS ANNOUNCEMENT OF SEAPORT APPROVAL FRAUDULENT
I am impelled to cut short my break from active engagement on social media to address the pathetic political deceit that President Bola Tinubu and Governor Umo Eno have undertaken in Akwa Ibom State.
On Friday, November 6, 2026, the APC presidential candidate announced that he has given approval for the establishment of a so-called “Ibom Deep-Seaport” in Akwa Ibom State.
Nigerians should be reminded that the so-called Deep-Seaport is nothing but a repeatedly parroted fraudulent project, and a money laundering scheme that successive administrations in Akwa Ibom have used to deceive and hoodwink Akwa Ibomites.
During the currency of their respective terms as governor, the Senate President Godswill Akpabio, his successor Mr. Udom Emmanuel and the incumbent, Mr. Umo Eno, have all lied shamelessly about this fictitious project.
They have all appropriated and wasted the resources of the State in the name of a non-existent seaport.
During Akpabio’s tenure as governor, the then President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, approved the establishment of a seaport.
Under Udom Emmanuel, President Buhari gave approval for the establishment of the same seaport.
Today, Tinubu has taken his turn to give yet another approval for a fake seaport that no one has seen.
Akwa Ibom people are tired of this deceit and political lunacy.
Politicians should not assume that they can perpetually engage in this level of dishonesty without rebuke.
We have had enough of this seaport approval nonsense in Akwa Ibom.
Finally, I totally condemn the irresponsible and unconstitutional actions taken by the governor of Akwa Ibom State in the name of welcoming Mr. Tinubu.
The governor has no business shutting down the State for what is apparently a partisan political event.
It is shameful that a man who parades himself as a pastor would misrepresent a partisan political event as an official State function.
Tinubu’s visitation was specifically for his reelection campaign.
Will the governor also declare a work free day and direct civil servants to attend the campaign events and rallies of presidential candidates of other political parties?
A vehicle conveying women to the airport to welcome the APC presidential candidate was involved in an accident, reportedly resulting in loss of life.
Akwa Ibom people are not slaves, and we will never allow the deceit and arrogance of failed politicians to go unchallenged.
President Tinubu’s disastrous policies and oppressive regime have brought tears, sorrow and blood to Nigeria.
Akwa Ibom is not insulated from Tinubu’s misrule.

SALVATION MINISTRIES: CELEBRATING FAITH, VISION AND THE ADVANCEMENT OF GOD’S WORK
Following several meetings and engagements in Abuja yesterday, I travelled to Lagos in the evening to continue with additional meetings.
Early this morning, I journeyed from Lagos to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to attend the dedication service for the newly completed Global Headquarters and Cathedral of Salvation Ministries, under the leadership of Senior Pastor David Ibiyeomie, a respected man of God and prominent Christian leader.
The ceremony was a significant celebration of faith, worship and gratitude. I was especially struck by the vision, magnitude and architectural excellence of the new cathedral, which can accommodate more than 100,000 worshippers. This achievement represents a major milestone for the ministry and reflects the dedication, commitment and perseverance necessary to realise such an ambitious vision.
I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Pastor David Ibiyeomie, his wife and the entire team on this outstanding accomplishment. I also commend the Salvation Ministries family for its steadfast commitment to spreading the Gospel of Christ. -PO
