Finally finished moving over my #photography from @500px to @Flickr. It's good to be back now that it's independent from Yahoo.
500px used to be good when it was Canadian & about photos. Now it's Chinese pushing NFTs. Sorry, can't get behind that.

Passkeys and Paswordless logins (send link to email). Why do things get more complicated instead of easier? Have we lost the KISS method in web development?
In the case of passwordless logins, it's totally to keep your email 'valid' so they can sell your data knowing it's legit.
I haven't had one good experience with passkeys. It's either a login loop, or it doesn't work on this device, or some other bunk.
Just leave things alone. Username/password/2FA. It....just...works....

How not to parent. Please, all future parents, do not be like this hack. And while you're at it, stop using AI for everything.
Be a proper father/mother.

There is literally no excuse to use Generative AI. Art education is so abundant and so free. If you really are as creative as you say, then prove it by actually developing a skill and creating something that isn't the microwaved sloppy seconds of statistical averages.

Just rewatched T2 - the most unrealistic part of the film wasn't the time travel or the robots, it was the tech executive who isn't a narcissist & is willing to give up personal riches when he learns that trying to profit off self-aware AI will destroy the entire world.
There's no way on this green earth that I'd give an #AI access to a digital wallet full of crazy private credentials no matter how safe and 'secure' either @1password or @AnthropicAI say it is.
I 1000% trust 1P, but beyond that, no way.
Little projects like this make the world a better place. Thanks!
Everywhere you look online today, there’s a new AI chatbot, a "summary" box, or a flashy helper button. While some find them useful, many users simply want a clean, distraction-free browsing experience without the AI bloat.
This is exactly where the power of the open-source community shines.
We want to give a massive shoutout to community member Stevoisiak for creating and maintaining Stevos-GenAl-Blocklist — a dedicated filter list compatible with AdGuard that strips out generative AI features across more than 300 websites.
Thank you, Stevoisiak, for the incredible effort and dedication it takes to maintain a project of this scale!
Check out the repository, show the creator some love, and star the project:

#AI Bros are off their rocker. Who in their right mind would give LLMs and big data direct access to your bank accounts? Why is this even allowed?
Damn, y'all on the way to self-destruction. How about we educate people how to give LESS personal data to these people, not MORE!
Major companies are out there peddling AI apps and slop begging us to use their garbage and pollute the internet.
Meanwhile, small fringe dev communities are keeping it real. I love it.
This is like the "don't take candy from a dude driving a white van".
You're giving your personal photos to not only a monopoly, but an AI system to do whatever they want with it...all so you can see yourself in a cute clay scene.
Candy, people. Stop getting paid in candy.
Google has announced “personalized” image generation that allows users to connect their Google Photos library to its Gemini AI image generator.

Playing the MGS series since its inception, the Movie "War Machine" is basically live action Metal Gear. The machine's visual scanning is similar to the Odradek in Death Stranding. They must have really been inspired by Kojima.
The score was satisfyingly epic. Kudos to Dmitri
Okay, so #AI does have its benefits.
Just ran some prompts to get the filter code needed to block ads on linkedin. LOL! Thank you Gemini, no more promoted/suggested!
This logo was the start of my career. I'll never bad mouth how awesome Flash was back then.

If you think storing your passwords inside anything that has access to AI, you're in for a privacy nightmare in the future. Sorry @copilot but, no.
Stick with something tried and true for real privacy and safety, like @1Password or @Bitwarden
🤖 Android's always been about freedom. Now Google's pulling a power move
The whole point of Android was that it wasn't like iOS — no walled garden, no gatekeeping. Build what you want, install what you want, from wherever you want. But that era's about to end.
Google's rolling out a new developer verification policy that basically makes them the sole boss of the entire Android ecosystem. Soon, every single developer (even the ones distributing apps through their own site or third-party stores like F-Droid) has to jump through Google's hoops. We're talking $25, a government ID, and begging for "permission" just to exist on the platform.
This hits close to home for us. You know why the full AdGuard for Android isn't on the Play Store? Because Google bans system-wide ad blockers there. We've always relied on Android's openness to get our software to you directly. Now Google's reaching way beyond its own store and trying to control the whole thing.
We signed an open letter with F-Droid, EFF, the Free Software Foundation, and Vivaldi telling Google to reconsider.
Security matters. That's what Play Protect is for. Forcing indie devs to dox themselves and pay up just to distribute privacy-focused software? That doesn't protect users. It kills competition and hands Google the keys to everything.
Android's strength was always freedom. Let's not lose it.

This quote never gets old. It's so valid, even now.
