Believe me that I don't exaggerate when I say this: I am thankful to be alive and hear these words said where Western audiences can hear them. This monologue is as revolutionary and meaningful as Rosa Park' refusal to move to the black people section of a bus, 71 years ago in Montgomery, Alabama.
Lubna Speitan seals her place in the chronicles of the struggle of the Palestinian people for freedom and dignity - now followed and supported by billions of people around the world.
I waited so long, so eagerly, to hear these transformative words; all of humanity did. EVery schoolboy and schoolgirl in the world need to know this
Watch this.
Lubna Speitan, author of the Greens4Palestine motion “Zionism is racism”, spells out the central obscenity of our age – the grotesque inversion whereby the victims of ethnic cleansing, Apartheid and genocide must constantly fend off accusations from their tormentors that it is they who are the racists.
“We as Palestinians are being silenced and gaslit and vilified [as we] witness the annihilation, the cold-blooded murder of our families, of our people… our children burnt with phosphorus, having to endure amputations with no anaesthetic, having their limbs torn and shredded, their bodies burnt by phosphorus, being starved to death … And to have to sit here … and try to bury my feelings so I can eloquently and diplomatically shield my anger, my rage, my anguish that every Palestinian is feeling, is an insult.” /1

Our petition for a public inquiry into Britain’s role in Gaza has hit 10,000 signatures.
Now, let’s get it to 100,000 to force a debate.
The public deserves to know the full scale of Britain’s complicity in genocide.

A sentence that includes the expression "for a ping-pong friend" is, on reflection, unlikely to be an attempt at high sublimity.

Yes, the phrase has an almost Wodehousian quality, as though archly going through the motions of literariness, for comic effect.

Un nettoyage ethnique est en cours en Cisjordanie occupée.
Les responsables politiques qui se limitent condamner le « problème des colons violents » contribuent à dédouaner Israël et son armée dans la poursuite d’une politique de colonisation de peuplement.

I'm trying to work out why "amber and rose crepuscles" is "beautiful". It's just because amber is beautiful and roses are beautiful, right? Like, to write beautifully I just have to reference plenty of beautiful things, right?

Then why did the UK government have to make so many concessions?
Good examples in football commentary. "She's bringing on fresh legs" (synecdoche), "there's lots of white shirts in the box" (metonymy).

🎥 “We want to go the Farage route, not the Lib Dem route.”
Ashok Kumar of Greens for Palestine spoke to Novara Media about strategy behind the Green Party’s “Zionism is racism” motion, which took a year to organize and was designed to expose Labour’s politics. He said PM Andy Burnham’s response revealed him as little different from Keir Starmer.
Inspired by Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s France Unbowed and its “strategy of conflict,” the idea is to set the terms of debate, provoke a backlash, and heighten contradictions to force opponents to reveal positions.
Rather than chase more MPs by moderating its politics, Kumar says the Greens should use confrontation to shift the debate leftward and become an anti-establishment force.
“We want to drag [the paradigm] to the left kicking and screaming.”

People who attack Palestinians for choosing the poppy as a symbol should see the blooms on the remains of Burayr, a Gaza district village erased by Haganah units in 1948 its inhabitants murdered in their homes or as they fled in terror to what is now the Gaza Strip.
