Red is a Vim-style terminal editor in Rust where your coding agent works through the editor. Keeps Vim muscle memory while giving Codex real editor context and controlled edits. github.com/codersauce/red @fcoury

This is f*cking gold, the CEO of Obsidian put his own second brain on GitHub for free and people still build theirs from zero 7 free repos from the Obsidian team: -> kepano obsidian (by kepano)
github.com/kepano/kepano-obs…
the vault template of the Obsidian CEO himself, copy it and skip the blank page -> jsoncanvas (by obsidianmd)

the open canvas format, your maps stay plain files that are yours forever -> obsidian releases (by obsidianmd)

libghostty 1.0 is here! I started Ghostty ~5yrs ago to work towards this. Today, libghostty is in hundreds of projects used by tens of millions of people. 1.0 marks ABI stability, quality, and an invite for distros to begin packaging. mitchellh.com/writing/libgho… Since starting the Ghostty project in 2022, the most common question I've been asked is "why?". Today, I'll answer this by showing the broad industry impact libghostty has already had. On top of JetBrains and Neovim already mentioned (that alone being over 10 million users): -KDE developers are experimenting with a Konsole replacement built on it. - Vercel's Turborepo uses it to render task output in its TUI. - devenv uses it to drive shells. - Antithesis used it to fuzz TUI programs and found real bugs in btop and others. -Ghostel brings it to Emacs. - ghostty-web is the WASM build with an Xterm.js-compatible API. - Commercial products like OrbStack embed it. - And a whole wave of new terminals and "agentic" coding tools, such as herdr and cmux, have been built on it rather than writing yet another emulator. There are community bindings for Rust, Go, JavaScript, Swift, Python, .NET, Elixir, Dart, Java, and more, and the awesome-libghostty list tracks well over a hundred projects. More people today use a terminal powered by libghostty than use Ghostty the application, by a very large multiple. And libghostty is having a much larger impact than being "just" a terminal emulator. I'm excited to see where people take it from here.

Congrats to Charlie and the Conductor team, truly pioneers! Since Conductor is shutting down, if you are looking something new: @ParadevAI allows you to orchestrate all your favorite agents in a beautiful UI and from anywhere :) We now have an integrated Chat for any agents + Cloud environment your team can create and share. Happy building!
I am very excited to share that Conductor is joining Meta! We have some big, crazy plans for the next interface. If you liked Conductor, you’re gonna love what’s coming. We’re super excited to work with @natfriedman and @alexandr_wang at MSL to build it. They’ve been on an absolute tear, and I’m convinced MSL has the highest talent density of all the labs. A huge thank you to our earliest believers @aaron_epstein, @ilyasu, and @nabeel. And to everyone here who tried Conductor, sent us feedback, and prompt requests - you made this so much fun. Thank you ❤️🚂 Choo choo!

Addy Osmani has an important warning for everyone using AI coding agents. The better the output looks, the easier it becomes to stop questioning it. In his latest article, he discusses cognitive surrender, a concept studied by Wharton researchers Steven Shaw and Gideon Nave. It describes what happens when an AI-generated answer quietly becomes your own conclusion without sufficient scrutiny. He describes three stages: → Cognitive offloading: You delegate work but retain responsibility for the result. → Deferral: You begin treating the AI's answer as the starting point for your next decision. → Cognitive surrender: You accept the output without feeling the need to verify it. The transition can be surprisingly gradual. You review one answer carefully, skim the next, and eventually approve changes you cannot fully explain. His practical advice is to form your own hypothesis before prompting, examine the agent's assumptions, look for evidence that could disprove its conclusions, and maintain enough understanding to defend what you ship. A useful reminder as more engineering work moves into autonomous agent workflows.

This is pure gold! Abdul El-Sayed trolling Trump and JD Vance after winning Michigan’s Senate race: “JD, habibi, there is this delicious irony in the fact that you’re constitutionally obligated to swear me in, in January.” “Donald, look, I know you struggle with my name, so after JD swears me in, you can just go on and call me Senator.”

Democrats will now control the House and Senate and be able to hold Trump accountable. That's great. At a time of massive income and wealth inequality, we must do more. We must aggressively fight for working families. No more excuses.
