What a great interview. It's an eye-opener and it will leave many facing some uncomfortable truths. Whether you dislike Zille or the DA, this is a must listen if you are able to have an open mind. Politicians and the electorate, can learn so much from Zille, she deserves the title of being a political legend. Her political acumen will be hard to match.🇿🇦

Great job @GovernmentZA. You are destroying jobs and the livelihoods of South Africans.
Finally Kopdoek has got her way. British American Tobaco is packing its bags and leaving South Africa. They cant compete with these Cadres illicit cigarettes.

I’m sorry but we stood no chance 😭 You look at the calibre of people other countries appoint as ministers and then look at South Africa. Rwanda has a Sports Minister with a degree in Economics and a Master’s in Economic Policy Management. Ours his background includes a criminal conviction with no qualifications. We even have a Minister of Defence with no military rank. The difference in the standards we accept for public office is staggering.
#Rwanda's Sports Minister Nelly Mukazayire says preparations to host the Formula 1 African Grand Prix will focus on three key areas: competition, entertainment and business. #RBANews

🚨 TRUMP JUST BRIEFED THE NATION FROM THE SITUATION ROOM TONIGHT: The last time a president did this during an active bombardment, Bush announced the ground war had begun. – 49 Tomahawks fired at Iranian targets as close as 40 miles from Tehran – Fighter jets swept Iranian radar and air defenses near the Gulf ahead of the strike package – Trump, Vance, Kushner, and Witkoff all present in the Situation Room — TONIGHT – Iran had spent months routing every message through Pakistani and Qatari intermediaries — refusing direct contact – Then the Tomahawks started hitting – Mid-bombardment, top Iranian officials picked up the phone and called the White House DIRECTLY – Trump: bombing will "stop shortly" — then came the condition – "Sign the deal or we'll bomb the S out of them TOMORROW NIGHT" – The deal on the table: open the Strait of Hormuz and close the nuclear path — BOTH – This is the first direct Iran-to-White House communication after months of proxy diplomacy – The last time Iran broke from intermediaries and went direct, it was the back-channel that ended the hostage crisis – Situation Room confirmed: the call happened MID-BOMBARDMENT — not after, not before — DURING – Tehran now has one night to decide between a signature and another strike package – The Strait of Hormuz carries 20% of the world's oil — TONIGHT that's the price of the deal Trump doesn't brief the nation from the Situation Room to announce a ceasefire. He does it when he wants the world to know the other side just blinked. Whatever Iran decides before morning — it's MARKET MOVING. It's WAR CHANGING. And the clock is already running. I'll keep you updated as this unfolds, turn on notifications this is EXTREMELY important. A lot of people will wish they followed me sooner. I'll keep you updated. Turn on notifications. 🚨

The ANC cannot even fix a community pool in Mangaung, how will they fix your city? 🤔 In Cape Town, we work to improve and repair our public pools across the city to create a safe and fun environment for all our residents 💙☀️👏

Many people living in Cape Town don't realise how fortunate they are to have a government that works. The damage to this bridge was extensive and a road closure would have caused extreme traffic chaos and delays 🙏

In late 2015, while the rest of the country was on holiday, acting Strategic Fuel Fund CEO Sibusiso Gamede quietly flogged South Africa’s entire strategic oil stockpile - roughly 10 million barrels - at a steep discount (~$28–30/barrel) with the approval of then Energy Minister Tina Joemat-Pettersson. No open tender. No board approval. No Treasury sign-off. They called it a “stock rotation.” It was a sale. Gamede, who was also Joemat-Pettersson’s special adviser, allegedly received large unexplained payments (including into his law firm’s trust account and in cash via ATMs). The Western Cape High Court later declared the deals invalid and corrupt, finding that Gamede’s motives were improper and that he had unlawfully disposed of a fundamental national insurance policy. The oil was sold near the bottom of the market; the buyers locked in easy upside. Taxpayers were left with the bill: the stock fetched ~$281 million, but restitution, interest, storage and costs ran substantially higher. The reserves were never properly rebuilt. Today those reserves sit at roughly 6.9 million barrels — a fraction of what the Saldanha tanks can hold and well below international norms — while inland petrol has hit record prices. A proper strategic buffer wouldn’t permanently cut everyday pump prices (those are set by global oil, the rand, taxes and refining shortfalls). It would give the country a tool to release stocks in a crisis, blunt extreme spikes and reduce the risk of shortages or panic. Selling the crown jewels cheap and failing to restore them left South Africans more exposed and poorer. Accountability never followed.

CAPE TOWN vs JOBURG: Spot the difference! 🛑 ➡️ ✅ When a truck dislodged an N1 bridge on Saturday, the DA-led City of Cape Town worked non-stop to fix it by Monday. That’s the DA difference - a government that gets things done! Meanwhile in Joburg, the failing ANC-EFF-PA-Al Jam-ah coalition leaves our crumbling bridges unsafe and neglected. Joburg deserves a government that works! 📍 See Joburg’s unsafe bridges: RedFlagBridges.co.za #BelieveInJoburg #Zille4Mayor

The Islamic riots in France have spread to Belgium, and Brussels looks like a war zone right now. This is the capital of the European Union. 88% of people under 18 have a foreign background, and more than half are Muslim. What has Europe done to itself?

Another Nobel Prize flop on par with giving the award to terrorist Yasser Arafat. The only reason Navi Pillay won is that she has pushed hatred of Israel. It's a disgrace to the committee, since false accusations of "genocide" encourage Palestinian terror and global antisemitism.
BREAKING The Norwegian Nobel Committee has awarded the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize to Navi Pillay. Pillay is a South African jurist of Indian Tamil descent. She defended anti-apartheid activists, presided over the UN tribunal for Rwanda, served as a judge on the International Criminal Court, was UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and chaired the UN inquiry into Israel and Gaza. Pillay’s work on the Rwanda tribunal helped establish that rape can constitute an act of genocide. Pillay headed the UN commission that concluded Israel committed genocide in Gaza. Her credibility was attacked by the Israeli government and various organizations that support the State of Israel.

BREAKING NEWS: Cape Town becomes South Africa's first metro to run its own energy plant.⚡🇿🇦 Today I travelled to Atlantis to switch on the Helderhoop Energy Plant. Only Hessequa Municipality has done this before. For Cape Town's residents, businesses, and economy this means a more sustainable and affordable energy future. It also moves the Western Cape closer to our goal of 5,700 MW of sustainable, more cost-effective energy. Thank you to all involved! #GettingItDone #ForYou

Some local government news from JHB, today the bins will not be collected Pikitup says. Don't know when. There is no electricity. No one knows why. Also, week five without water. No end in sight. So, you know, give the ANC another chance guys. So much potential for improvement.
