I don’t think three days’ worth of food is going to cut it, is it? 🤨

The circulating "big news" is FORTRESS America, launched by Sec. Hegseth on Sept 30. It requires major US bases to sustain essential operations independently for at least 90 days without civilian power, water, fuel or supplies. Plans cover microgrids, batteries, portable reactors and stockpiles against grid failure, cyber or supply risks in major conflict. Confirmed via Pentagon statements and docs reviewed by Fox.

Pretty much. As of the past few weeks, debt markets have almost entirely shut off access to money for any company that doesn’t have substantial revenue independent of AI data centers. SpaceX closed $40B of debt for GPUs, but we’re investment grade and have Starlink & launch revenue. That means the 200+ neoclouds are going to see guppy-level death and consolidation. Some will make it through, but not many.

The president of Peru is Japanese?! 😵‍💫 You learn something new every day.
Peru is about to get the Bukele treatment. This is the new Peruvian president, Keiko Sofía Fujimori Higuchi. The caption on the original video says “We announce the creation of the Unified Command to confront organized crime, an elite special force made up of the National Police and the Armed Forces. We are uniting capabilities, experience, and operational strength to act in a coordinated way against criminal organizations and restore security for all Peruvians.”

Zinaida Serebriakova - The Bathhouse, 1913 Can an ordinary moment become a masterpiece? Women bathing. Everyday life, painted without idealising the human body. Serebriakova was a Russian painter who left her homeland after the Revolution. She is known for her warm, intimate portrayals of women.

In the 70s we had power cuts. But we also had coal fires. We didnt need the internet to have access to our money. And we lived close to family & in communities. 2026 power outages wont be like that they will be frightening & miserable. France is on fire because of their failed politics. The English are frightened, impoverished & diminished. Well done to our politicians for 40 years of incompetence.

I don’t believe a serious government would tell the people to stockpile and then say war is coming in three years. I think this is all about control and fearmongering.

😂
Well, that’s me all stocked up just in case of an Ai cyber attack, a man made climate storm or an attack from Russia’s cancer ridden president, who has only got weeks to live and is ready to nuke us I’ve got the tins of food, water toilet roll batteries and candles just as Wes Streeting told us too .. It might seem selfish but you need to take precautions. After all, Labour is in charge and anything is possible under their leadership.

One minute they're telling us to stockpile for war, the next...

Andy Burnham is the platonic midwit. No wonder he's popular with a portion of the electorate. He's the personification of representative government, in that he represents the British public in all its idiocy, shallowness and unseriousness - but he can emote, so it's fine.
