Hi everyone, PhysioScout here. Welcome back to the new season! Let me give you an introduction to what I do. I analyse football injuries and attempt to give you timeframes on how long your favourite player or FPL, SoRare asset is out for with the help of video analysis and my expertise. Despite it being hard to believe, we're able to take a look at injuries, the mechanism on how it happened and give you a pretty great estimate on the recovery times, before your clubs even tell you! Obviously, nothing will be as good as the traditional MRI scan and X-Ray. Sometimes we may get it wrong. But we have a great hit rate, just check out our page! Whether it's to help out with your FPL selections or to see how injuries may affect your team. Give us a follow! #PremierLeague #Injuries #FPLCommunity #FPL #SoRare

Bukayo Saka had to come off after suffering a left quad/hip flexor injury in Arsenal's clash vs. Bayern. It occurred after a forceful kicking motion while attempting to switch play to the opposite side of the pitch. Minor quad/hip flexor strains generally have favourable recovery timelines, although the forceful mechanism raises concerns about a potentially more significant tear. Potential Recovery Times: Grade 1: 1-3 weeks Grade 2-3: Multi-week absence (6+ weeks) Scans will be necessary to determine the extent of the injury. Let's hope for a good result. #AFC #Arsenal #UCL #Bayern #FPL #FPLCommunity

🚨 We're back reporting on injuries again - just a quick wrap-up of what we've seen so far. 🔴 Szoboszlai: Looks to have reaggravated the same hamstring injury that recently kept him sidelined. Wouldn't be surprised if it's another 2 weeks before we see him back. 🔴 Frimpong: Looked to have picked up a muscular injury, most likely the hamstring given the way he pulled up. Hopefully nothing too serious, but scans will give us a clearer picture of the severity and time out. 🔵 Erling Haaland: Picked up a foot/ankle injury while attempting a volley vs. Ipswich. Could be a mild ligament sprain or bone contusion, with a fracture less likely. Hopefully nothing too serious. Typically initially painful but recovers fast. 🔵 Mateo Kovačić: Just a knock. Given his recent history of significant injuries, it's good to hear he should be back relatively soon. 🟣 Aaron Wan-Bissaka: This one looked concerning. Appeared to injure his right hamstring while sprinting back defensively and changing direction. Needing assistance off the pitch. A moderate-to-severe hamstring strain is likely. Could be looking at multiple weeks out, depending on scan results. 🟣 Johan Manzambi: Looks to be nothing more than a minor knock or possible cramp. Let us know if we've missed anyone! #PhysioScout #FootballInjuries #InjuryUpdate #SportsPhys

Cody Gakpo went off injured for the Netherlands over the weekend. We broke down the tackle, the mechanism, and the possibilities, including what a high ankle sprain would mean for his recovery. Nothing is confirmed just yet. Scans should and will tell us more. Follow for the update & more videos like this. #Gakpo #LFC #Liverpool #YNWA #FPL #FPLCommunity

Cody Gakpo had to come off in the first half in Serbia vs. Netherlands with an ankle injury. Scissor-tackle type mechanism forced Gakpo's ankle into eversion + external rotation. This mechanism raises concern for a syndesmosis/high ankle sprain. Scans will need to rule out any lower-leg fractures. Expected Recovery Time: Moderate-grade syndesmosis/deltoid ligament: 3–6 weeks High-grade syndesmosis: 8-10+ weeks w/ surgery Gakpo will be lucky to escape any lengthy time out with the nature of the tackle. However, scans will be necessary to determine the length of the time out. #LFC #Liverpool #Gakpo #FPL #FPLCommunity #YNWA

By the sounds of things, Havertz’s injury looks to be more of a lower grade hamstring strain. MRI to be conducted, but hopefully only 2-4 weeks out if confirmed grade 1. #AFC
🚨 Kai Havertz to leave Germany national team camp after suffering hamstring injury in 1st half of Nations League draw vs Netherlands. Optimism issue sustained by 27yo Arsenal forward not serious but returning to #AFC for assessment/recovery @TheAthleticFC nytimes.com/athletic/7627309…

João Pedro has withdrawn from Brazil duty with a knee issue. Reports from ESPN Brasil suggest scans showed knee oedema (swelling/fluid from irritation or trauma) alongside stretching/sprains of the ACL and MCL, with around 3–4 weeks recovery reportedly expected. What does this mean? Oedema can occur following ligament/soft-tissue trauma and doesn’t necessarily mean a significant tear. Low-grade/partial ACL injuries are less common than complete ruptures and need to be protected carefully while swelling settles and stability, strength and function return. Expected Recovery Time: ~3–4 weeks+ Potentially João Pedro could return sooner if this is swelling stays down and structures are stable. But, with reported ACL involvement, return probably won’t be rushed. #JoaoPedro #Chelsea #CFC #ACL #MCL #PhysioScout

As spoken about, Maatsen has injured his ankle and will be out for 6-8 weeks. Unclear on the specific nature of the injury, described as ‘tendon damage’. But timeline fits our thoughts of a high ankle sprain. Hopefully he has a speedy recovery! #AVFC

Ben White appeared to pick up groin/adductor discomfort during Arsenal vs. Sunderland. White was seen clutching his groin after chasing back defensively late in the first half. Arteta subsequently said he was “fine” ahead of Sunderland, after battling a niggle in the midweek fixture. Expected Recovery Time: If tightness/minor irritation: <1 week, day-to-day If Grade 1 adductor strain: 1–3 weeks Hopefully this is more precautionary than anything else. Jurrien Timber looks set to replace him. Further assessment will determine whether this is simply tightness or an actual low-grade groin/adductor strain. #AFC #Arsenal #ArsenalFC #FPL #FPLCommunity #SUNARS

Nobel Mendy had to come off for Hull City in the second half vs. Chelsea after suffering a head injury following a clash of heads with João Pedro. Hull’s record signing appeared disoriented after the collision and required assistance leaving the pitch before being sent to hospital for scans. Manager Sergej Jakirović confirmed after the game: “He was disoriented. It’s a concussion, 100%. Expected Recovery Time: Standard earliest return: 12 days Potentially longer if symptoms persist If concussion is confirmed, rather than a simple head knock. Mendy would have to progress through the Premier League/FA concussion return-to-play protocol. Day 12 is the standard earliest return to play via the FA's Enhance Care Pathway. #HCAFC #HullCity #FPL #FPLCommunity #HCFC #CHEHUL

Pau Torres was forced off for Aston Villa early in the first half with a suspected hamstring injury. Torres was seen holding the mid-to-upper portion of his hamstring, with no obvious mechanism associated with the injury. Hopefully this was more precautionary and represents just hamstring tightness or a low-grade strain, rather than anything more significant. Expected Recovery Time: If tightness: <1 week If Grade 1: 2-4 weeks If Grade 2: 4-8 weeks Scans and further assessment will be necessary to determine the extent of the injury. #AVFC #AstonVilla #FPL #FPLCommunity

Ian Maatsen had to come off for Aston Villa vs. Nottingham Forest with an ankle injury. Awful hip-drop type mechanism from McAtee, with Maatsen’s ankle trapped underneath and forced into eversion/external rotation. This mechanism raises concern for a syndesmosis/high ankle sprain. Expected Recovery Time: Moderate-grade syndesmosis: 4–6 weeks High-grade syndesmosis: 8-10+ weeks w/ surgery Syndesmosis + fracture: 12+ weeks Emery’s initial assessment was concerning, saying the information he had received suggested it “may be a long, long time”. Scans will be necessary to determine the exact extent of the injury and whether there is any associated bony involvement. #AVFC #AstonVilla #FPL #FPLCommunity

Bradley Barcola had to come off in the second half with a calf issue in Liverpool vs. Atletico Madrid. This happened after a sudden acceleration attempt, and Iraola added, "It is just cramp, there is no injury." Likely it's just precautionary here. Expected Recovery Time: If tightness/cramp: <1 week If grade 1: 1-3 weeks Hopefully the record signing will be back for Liverpool's clash vs. Fulham. #LFC #Liverpool #LiverpoolFC #YNWA

everyone says ACL is the worst injury in sport. it’s not. it’s not even top 3. achilles: 1 in 5 never get back to their old level. patellar tendon rupture: 1 in 4 never play again. tib-fib fracture: up to half get a major complication. ACL? 90%+ return to the same level. it’s not a death sentence. comment which one you’ve had. i’ll start — ACL, twice.

Christian Mosquera had to come off with a hamstring injury in Arsenal’s clash vs. Aston Villa. Mosquera was clutching the mid portion of the hamstring, with no mechanism associated with the injury. This looks like more of a minor one. Expected Recovery Time: If tightness: <1 week If grade 1: 2-4 weeks Scans will be necessary to determine whether this is just hamstring tightness, or an actual strain. #AFC #Arsenal #ArsenalFC #FPL #FPLCommunity

Joe Rodon had to come off for Leeds in their clash with Brentford with a hamstring injury. Unfortunately, this looks like more of a hamstring strain than just simple tightness. Expected Recovery Time: Grade 1: 2-4 weeks Grade 2: 4-8 weeks Farke added: "We have to assess him. Hopefully he's not out too long. We do not have many senior centre-back options." Scans will need to be conducted to determine the severity of the injury. #LUFC #LeedsUnited #LEEBRE
