On the first day of early voting, U.S. Congressman Tim Moore spoke at a conference in Raleigh and said his seat was "not considered competitive" and that he was campaigning "even though I probably wouldn't have to if I didn't want to." He was wrong. wunc.org/politics/2026-11-03…

We want hearings. We want subpoenas. We want investigations. We want whistleblowers. We want journalistic exposés. We want key defendants flipping. We want indictments and convictions. We want JUSTICE — and 100% actual accountability for ALL the corruption and crimes.

NJ7 was a 21-point swing from Kean’s 5-point win in 2024 to Bennett’s 16-point win last night. NJ2 was a 20-point swing from Van Drew’s 17-point win to Mullock’s three points. Two completely different ways of getting to the same place.
Southern voters swung 20 points toward the Democrats.

I was able to do a short interview with Senator Harkin last night after Turek's victory speech. "I almost lost it [...] for me, it's a dream come true. ... It's living long enough to be able to see what the Americans with Disabilities Act actually means." youtube.com/watch?v=64WIN7id…
Happy for so many tonight. But really thrilled for these two. Always Iowa.

I was with Ann Richards on election night in 1994 when she conceded to Gov. Bush (t was one of those big brick looking cell phones). I was next to her when the lights went out for Democrats in Texas. For 32 years I have been waiting, praying, grieving loss after loss. Cycle after cycle. Election after election. And tonight, we elected James Talarico to the United States Senate and Gina Hinojosa Governor of Texas. Ann is the reason I’m in politics at all. She gave a young gay man from Houston his first shot, and she taught me that the first step is to stop waiting for someone else to do it. Tonight, nobody waited. Not the block walkers who knocked doors in August heat for candidates everyone said couldn’t win. Not the organizers who kept registering voters in counties the consultants had written off. Not the candidates who ran and lost in ‘02 and ‘06 and ‘14 and ‘18 and ‘22 and did it anyway, because every one of those campaigns built something the next one stood on. Not the donors who gave when the smart money said Texas was a lost cause. Not the young people who looked at a state that had never once voted for them and decided to make it vote for them. Not the Tejano moms in the Valley, the suburban dads in Collin County, the church ladies in my beloved Houston who have been doing this work since before James Talarico was born. Tonight belongs to all of them. To Gina and James and their families, who carried the weight of 30 years of hope with grace. To the staff who haven’t slept since the primary. To every Texan who got told no for three decades and showed up one more time. The lights are back on in Texas. I know Ann is watching from heaven tonight, and I know exactly what that grin looks like. Thank you, Texas. Thank you, everyone. Now let’s go to work. #TX2026

Make no mistake: the pressure was on Anderson Clayton. NC Democrats elected her chair when she was only 25 (!!) because she said she could organize better than the @NCDemParty did when it lost every statewide race in the 2022 midterms. She met and *exceeded* expectations.
Last night, we saw what happens when preparation, long-term investment, and year-round organizing meets opportunity. Republicans tried to pick their voters, yet voters sent a resounding message that they will not let disenfranchisement win over democracy. ✊ let’s get to work.

Trump-endorsed Republican Victoria Spartz, who moved from Ukraine to Indiana at 21 and became the first Ukrainian-born member of Congress, lost her seat last night. In 2024 she voted against Ukraine aid when Russia was bombing the region she grew up in. She also said Ukraine can’t demand to keep all its land.
