It honestly is beautiful. I interpreted it as Bryan was never meant to be the protagonist. Throughout the movie, we’re shown how clumsy, uncoordinated and naturally unskilled he is. His compassion is actually what gets him killed. He never wanted any of this to happen, he just wanted to be a dad. But by the end, he’s reduced to just another monster that needs to be defeated. Umbrella Corp had nothing to do with him, nor did they care. Everything he fought for and ultimately died for is gone. And this movie just made me realize that people genuinely don’t know how to watch films with an open mind. Everyone expects a linear story where the MC wins, gets stronger or at least gets a happy ending. But movies aren’t supposed to be predictable or follow the same formula every single time. Sometimes the entire point is that the protagonist loses, and that’s what makes the story beautiful.
