The next generation of induced-proximity medicines. We're here to put a dent in the universe.

induced proximity is the future of medicine and we've barely scratched the surface of what's possible with it... there is simply no other modality that combines the versatility of small molecules with the power of much more complex next-gen therapeutics
One of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen: a standing ovation for the full Daraxonrasib results I feel inspired and energised, to put it mildly — we have a targeted therapy for pancreatic cancer now, and nothing is undruggable anymore

Announcing General Proximity's $12M, 2x over-subscribed, pre-Series A round. Medicine is in the dark ages. Our understanding of biology far exceeds our ability to perturb it therapeutically.

There’s an enormous gap in the longevity field that almost no one is talking about. No existing therapeutic modalities are capable of both systemic distribution and complex transformations. Until we solve this, we won’t solve aging. 🧵

this was a super fun convo! got to talk about a bunch of things that I've been obsessed with for a long time: -the inner work of fundraising -the magic of doing hard things -how to have great ideas -being a solo founder -fantasy novels as meaning-makers for founders :)

one mistake early founders often make is that they think they should be able to accurately assess every single candidate in a recruiting process unfortunately the candidates where you have high s/n is somewhat stochastic, based on your experience so far

"most start-up founders should probably be more ambitious. Start-ups are extremely hard. Don’t waste your life on something trivial." Killer post from @armandcognetta

I'm looking to bring on our very first senior leadership role in drug discovery (Sr. Director/VP) at General Proximity. We have an insanely high talent density team (prox.bio/team) so the bar for this role is extremely high. DM if you think you might be a good fit

I'm always surprised by how many health-focused biotechs and labs feed their team pizza, bagels, and donuts. We try to do things a little differently at @proxbio, with benefits from Locale, @function health, Nebula Genomics, and @onemedical, as well as a number of other benefits and incentives to help our team members reach peak performance. generalproximity.bio/benefit…

Proud to be an investor of General Proximity! @armandcognetta is one of the most talented and incredibly tenacious founders I know.
General Proximity (@proxbio) is coming out of stealth. General Proximity is developing a new class of medicines that we believe has the potential to decrease global disease burden, transform human health, and extend lifespan more than any other current therapeutic modality. 🧵

+1. We need to normalize founder-led start-ups that incorporate to generate brand new tech/IP. I got so much confusion and pushback from VCs when I first started my co to develop a brand new therapeutic modality + associated tech from the ground up
Why are PhD students so obsessed with starting companies based on their dissertation topics? Like, your PhD project isn’t the pinnacle of your potential—it’s literally just the first manageable project your PI tossed your way. “bUt iP I GeNerAtEd dUrInG mY pHd—” My brother in science, you can just run a high-throughput screen or whatever and find new IP. You can literally just do that - thats why you got your f degree. I promise. Academic IP is mid anyway and, in most cases, years of work away from being remotely valuable. You don’t have to fall into a sunk-cost trap over your PhD data. It’s just data. You are not contractually obligated to chain your entire career to it. Break free from the linear narrative of “I kept working on the same thing forever.” Think bigger. Please please think bigger than that.

So honored to share that @proxbio was one of the 23 awardees (out of 1700+ applicants!) for the @ARPA_H #SprintForWomensHealth! This $3M grant will support our team as we advance next-gen proximity therapeutics for high value undruggable targets in the women’s cancer space towards the clinic. Dedicating this work to my incredible mother, Suzanne Cognetta. I began working on cancer therapeutics after she was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time and I realized that despite being in one of the best chemical biology labs in the world, I was powerless to help her. Hopefully our work here will be a big step towards changing that for all the women and mothers in the world.
NEW: Announcing the #SprintForWomensHealth awardees! ✨ These game-changers will address critical unmet challenges in women’s health. 👏 arpa-h.gov/engage-and-transi…
