Ya know what I love about gamers/gaming the most? Cooperative spirit. Doesn't always mean "group play," can also just be "lemme help with that." Or "wanna help me with ____ real quick?" "Try this next time, might make it easier." Humility is based.
Ya know what I hate most about gamers/gaming? Hubris. Shows up in all competitive spaces, not just here. Having a healthy amount of ego is fine, but crossing into hubris is THE most annoying trait EVER.
My guess on the sneak peek

Some sort of data storage device? Certain ships will have readers for em. We gather data, store it into this thingy, and sell either it or its contents. 🤷♂️
Proton is BOSS
Joshua Michael found an access token on Flock's public website.
No login required. No authentication. Just sitting there.
He downloaded Flock's entire database. 300,000 device locations. 170,000 cameras. 130,000 other hardware units. 27,000 acoustic detectors.
Made a map. Published it September 23.
The Senate held a hearing on Flock the same day. Cited Michael's research.
Flock panicked.
Sent a cease-and-desist. Used a brand-protection vendor called Doppel to claim trademark infringement.
The map said it wasn't affiliated with Flock. Doppel didn't care.
Michael's site went dark.
Then Proton moved it to Swiss servers.
Now it lives on protonmcp.org. Untouchable. Uncensorable. Hosted by an encryption company in a country that doesn't care what Flock wants.
The irony is crystalline.
Flock left an access token on the internet. Michael used it to download their own data. Published it. Flock tried to suppress it.
Proton said suppressing it is suppressing information.
Which is true.
The map shows Flock has 150,000 more cameras than they publicly claimed.
Shows acoustic detection units mapping human speech across the country.
Shows which police departments have access to the whole network.
Flock doesn't want that visible.
So they tried trademark infringement.
Which only worked until Proton decided transparency matters more than Flock's feelings.
Now everyone can see exactly how many cameras are watching their car. Where they are. Which cops can see them.
Michael warned Flock about the exposed token in November 2025.
Flock ignored him.
Then got mad when he used it.
The surveillance company that claims to protect privacy just tried to suppress the only map showing how much they actually surveille.
And failed.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know

More overtime in the last 6 months than the previous 4 years. Combined.
"There's been an uptick, but it's not substantial. --- Did you print that off yourself? Oh, well, look at all the extra money you're making."
I'm not a violent man. But I daydream I'm one sometimes. 😇
I hate having a "shower idea" and lacking the time/skills to turn it into a shareable piece of Star Citizen media for everyone else to see.
Showering today, the "requiem for a dream" piece (Lux Aeterna) was stuck in my head for whatever adhd reason and I started creating this little 4 minute scene in my head where as the music starts, we see the mc struggling to sleep. Everytime he closes his eyes he sees the same images of his sister being 💀 by whatever bad guy, and bad guy takes her helmet as a trophy. Song continues with a little more energy and its a montage of our mc training, exercising, gathering intel, etc., that old cliché. Pinnacle of the songs energy and mc finds the bad guy, tears through the henchman and takes out the boss. Makes it back home, sisters helmet in hand, and as the song fades, the noise in his head does as well, and he can finally sleep.
Like, the "movie in my head" gives me chills. Just wish I could put that something visual for others.
So, we start a petition to hand the Mass Effect IP over to Owlcat, yes? No? If IP acquisition was an option, where would you wanna see it go? CDPR? Archtype? Let it rest in peace and just enjoy Legendary Edition?
I. Am. Floored.
A very heartfelt thank you to @Hstaphath1545 for this collection of beautiful items! Everyone involved, yall are amazing! 🫶
Unrelated but did bring to mind something that does annoy the 💩 outta me. Business's that force employees to use AI tools and then claim a "high adoption rate" to justify more reliance on it. Put that in the same annoying box as, "thanks for coming to this mandatory meeting."
I have 3 Invite-a-Friend codes for WoW Forever I'm giving away.
First come first serve, if anyone wants to give WoW Forever a try when it releases on Nov 4th without needing a subscription, lemme know in the comments and I'll send you a code!
I am the very model of a scientist Salarian!
I've studied species, Turian, Asari, and Batarian.
I'm quite good at genetics (as a subset of biology), because I am an expert (which I know is a tautology).
My xenoscience studies range from urban to agrarian - I am the very model of a scientist Salarian!
