Anant Ambani PR in the last 6-8 months is getting unreal. Seems to be the next de facto king of Reliance Industries.
He was completely absent before that barring his massive marriage celebration spread across months.

If you remember -
ICAI represented strongly when GAAR was introduced.
For DTC's aggressive provisions, ICAI had strong voice.
ICAI has been vocal against introduction of retrospective amendments in taxation laws.
When GST portal was facing structural issues, ICAI was the main representative for streamlining the initial glitches.
ICDS formulation along with CBDT
Biggest thing - ICAI stood strong and due to that we adopted IndAS instead of IFRS.
ICAI has constantly fought for Statutory Audit Rights for CAs as compared to other Professionals.
Even they have actively represented for due date extensions in the past. It stopped when people on X started posting against FM and that meeting changed so many things.
There are many more.
Extension of due date is just a tiny %.
X doesn't represent the entire fraternity.

My personal & honest opinion: CAs, ICAI and CBDT
1. We should not expect ICAI to keep asking for due-date extensions. From a limited reading of the CA Act, ICAI is a statutory body for regulation of the profession: education, examination, training, entry into practice, professional standards, discipline, quality, and development of accountancy knowledge. That part it does well. No complaints.
2. Chartered Accountants are the professionals "defined" under the Income tax Act for tax audit. The demand for more time is therefore between CAs who take on those audits and CBDT, which administers the law.
3. In roughly two decades of articleship and practice, my sense is that CBDT does not fully grasp ground realities. Even outreach programmes are often shaped by departmental officers and by influencers & politicians in the tax field (who are not necessarily practising CAs). There is a real gap between the official picture and how work actually happens.
4. The tax audit narrative is still built on older “scrutiny” instincts. In much of the SME sector, books are written from an income tax lens rather than as proper accounts with tax computation as a separate exercise. That shifts a heavy load onto CAs, who must certify the same. Given the complexity of the forms and the Act, good work needs time. The present window is not enough.
The solution is not simple, and this will keep recurring every year. Extensions are only "arrangements". Tax audit needs a fundamental re-assessment and restructuring.
Many people may not like this view. I am not in the race for another #extension. I believe it is the client’s duty to get the audit done on time; if they do not, it is the client who should face the consequences.
At the same time, as a member of the fraternity, I feel CBDT should recognize the pressure on CAs who certify compliance, and carry statutory responsibility. A permanent design, not another date, would let CAs do the work properly and discharge that duty better.
You can have your own views, different from this. Honest and creative views are welcome.

3 Business Class flights. 13+ hours of flying. Just 42.5K miles + ₹6K in taxes per person ??
Hell yeahh, bring it on! ✈️🔥
I booked my onward journey from Delhi to Barcelona using Amex Membership Rewards points, flying a combination of SriLankan Airlines + Qatar Airways.
DEL → CMB → DOH → BCN
Delhi–Colombo was SriLankan Airlines Business Class on an A320, while Colombo–Doha and Doha–Barcelona were Qatar Airways Business Class on their new 787-9 Mini QSuites.
And the cost?
42.5K American Airlines AAdvantage miles + ~₹6K taxes per person.
Now, how do you get AA miles from India?
There’s no direct Indian credit card transfer partner. The workaround is Marriott Bonvoy, at a 3:1 transfer ratio.
So I transferred 2.55L Amex MR points → Marriott → 85K AAdvantage miles, enough for 2 Business Class seats.
The SriLankan Business Class experience was… basically Economy with better legroom 😂 They served breakfast, which was okay. I didn’t have very high expectations anyway, so overall, it was decent.
But Qatar Business Class?
An experience in itself.
The crew, aircraft, food and service were all exceptional.
You could choose when you wanted to eat, and almost everything we tried was delicious. (The frozen idli appetizer was the one exception 😂)
The drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) were top notch too.
And the hard product was easily the best I’ve experienced so far.
Enclosed suites. Beautiful lighting. Gorgeous colour combinations. And those Mini QSuites are just 🔥
And then there was the Al Mourjan Business Lounge – The Garden at Doha.
Calling it a “lounge” almost feels like an understatement. The sheer scale, the massive indoor fountain and the beautifully designed spaces made it feel more like a luxury hotel than an airport lounge.
You genuinely get that feeling of exclusivity the moment you walk in. A pretty spectacular place to spend a few hours between flights.
The amenity kits were beautiful too…
Unfortunately, they were immediately hacked by my wife. 😂
So that’s my little review of Qatar Airways Business Class and how I managed to book this entire journey for just ~₹12K for two people.
And this is only the beginning.
Next up: how I booked our return journey from Switzerland in Business Class, again using a completely different airline and this time, through their promotional fares.
If you found this useful, a like + repost would be hugely appreciated. ❤️
Just back from a 14 day long couple’s Europe trip that covered Spain, Italy and Switzerland 🇪🇸🇮🇹🇨🇭
The flights were booked in business class and hotels were a mix of luxury and budget options.
Very high level breakdown of the numbers:
Amex MR points burnt: 5,19,000
Axis Atlas Edge Miles burnt: 1,59,750
Out of pocket cost: ~INR 3,50,000
Details of all the redemptions and costs dropping soon 👀.
Follow along if you are someone who’s looking to optimise their points stash and keeping the out of pocket cost relatively low.
