Regrettably, I'm having to cut back on upstream sponsorships since it's been higher than my own sponsorship income for several months now. Thanks to all who still contribute for the ongoing support! 💖
This has grown to 36 authors, all at $1 a month, which is still around 10% of my own sponsorship income. We're an ecosystem of creators and it feels right to give to the authors whose tools and lower-level crates I use.

Don’t worry guys, I’m not sitting on any secret Actix Web CVEs.

In light of today's security news, I am doubling my key length from 8 to 16 bits.

Good to know Actix’ CI isn’t going anywhere 😊
Replying to @sequoia
@sequoia is leading our Series C at a $1B valuation. We started Blacksmith in 2024 to make CI faster and less painful. In January we ran 5 million CI jobs a week. Today it's over 90 million and growing, and we’re still early.

its obviously not *good* but admittedly having a private key of *4* as a globally trusted cert authority is one of the funniest bits of all time
For the next few days or weeks, anyone now has a root CA thanks to eMudhra. Time to have some fun with MiTMing unwilling devices!

Turns out all us open source guys were right. If your (ancient) issue included a minimal reproduction, there’s a good chance it’ll be fixed by EoY.

Hate @t3codes nightly because always having threads running and being mega productive means there's always an update pending 😩

Turns out the friction of having to learn photoshop was a crucial firewall protecting society from the terrible taste of small business owners
Look at this stupid AI bullshit lmao

Critical path and overall runner minutes slashed with @useblacksmith. Thanks for the sponsorship of Actix Web 🎉

Main branch checks include a very lengthy feature combinations check which was the biggest benefactor even before parallelising it.

Decided to vibe myself a "better" @github notifications page according to my workflow. Had to be a Firefox plugin because their API doesn't expose everything needed to build one separately :(

This is my favourite part of the mod.

Actually no, maybe showing merge queue status is...

I want to start on v5 prep, but I also want to fix as many bugs for the v4 series as possible first.

You can try out `deser` as an Actix Web JSON extractor:
Rust has one serialization library that is Serde. Over the years I collected a bucket list of all the things that I do not enjoy about it. Finally did something about it and finished Deser. Here is a small summary of the why, what and how: lucumr.pocoo.org/2026/9/29/d…
