Notes 0.1.91 is now available in @rootappofficial with a number of new updates centered around collaboration
Select any text in a note and leave a comment. Build comment reply changes and resolve them when you're done.
Users are now notified when a note is shared with them with app notifications.
You can now share a link to a note with the copy link feature. Share this link anywhere to navigate to the note directly on both mobile and desktop
Also fixed: better support for nested lists, steadier cursors, and co-working

Nitro-only uppercase usernames coming to Discord?
Discord is currently running a private survey dedicated to server admins to gather feedback on a potential username change.
According to the survey, only users subscribed to Nitro would be allowed to use uppercase characters in their handles. After Nitro expires, usernames would revert back to lowercase after a grace period.
While this feature is being considered, it might raise concerns about handle theft and whether scammers will abuse similar characters like I (uppercase i) -> l (lowercase L) for phishing.

Part two of playing with GPUs in @reactnative. Our badges are flat SVGs. This demo traces the outline, extrudes it into a mesh, renders it with WebGPU (@wcandillon's react-native-wgpu + @swmansion's TypeGPU), and engraves your @rootappofficial username on the back.

Experimenting with improvements to the call overlay on Root's mobile app. It now displays the active speaker when they're talking, respects the aspect ratio of display video streams, and provides flexibility to tuck the overlay off screen if you'd like it out of the way.
Built with @swmansion's Reanimated + Gesture Handler, and @expo blur. We use react-native-webrtc for handling the video streams.

Calls get noise suppression. Fans, keyboards, and background noise get filtered out before anyone else hears them, and a noise gate keeps your mic quiet between sentences. There's a strength slider in settings, and you can adjust it mid call from a brand new audio settings sheet.
