Slowly starting to realize that 98-99% of the people on this app are retarded.
Even the big accounts. They're just popular.
I used to think there had to be some baseline level of intelligence or unique insight required to become a big CT account.
Apparently not.
Maybe my perception is skewed because almost everyone I hang out with IRL or regularly message online is a genius, or at least a genius relative to the people on this app.
I've been so sheltered over the years. I've only ever witnessed normie cognition through brief, glancing interactions, or from afar.
Seeing it up close through this app has genuinely been eye-opening.
The shit I'm seeing on the timeline lately is unbelievable.
Crypto is genuinely the greatest place in the world to be if you're not a complete idiot.
You're literally trading against some of the most non-technical, mouth-drooling midwits imaginable. They're deploying capital into things they don't even remotely understand.
You don't even need a finance background.
In fact, I'm starting to realize you don't even need to be particularly intelligent to make it in crypto, you just need intellectual honesty and genuine curiosity.
Willingness to admit when you're wrong, question your own assumptions, and actually try to understand what you're investing in.
Apparently, those things alone put you ahead of 98-99% of the people here.
It's genuinely insane how low the bar is.
Anyway, if you follow me, congratulations. You're probably in the 1-2% that isn't retarded.
real.
you either die at a low level (wagie)

This is the indiafication of apple: each product is tested before release. They test apps to see if they work as they should or not.
The indians that tested this either lied about testing it (jugaad) or didn't admit there was a flaw because they would lose izzat.

Steve Jobs would have taken a bullwhip to the engineering team for this.

On ramping and off ramping in 2012 meant meeting someone in person, or online, and sending money to their bank account and then waiting for them to send you the BTC. Or you could use some fiat onramp services and pay 10% fee.
There was nothing onchain at all. To transact required centralised entities that would regularly steal your assets or go offline entirely (see Mtgox, BTCe, cryptorush, Cryptsy, Mintpal, coinedup, etc).
But yeah the biggest thing was just the conditioning of being defensive. In my first years of crypto I was so aggressive, full-porting random shitcoins etc, I guess most people do this when they’re new. But 2020 folks got to do that on defi, solana, etc — stuff with multi-year mega runs. I got to do that on QuarkCoin and AsiaCoin which died within weeks.

If you joined in 2012 or 2013 and bought anything except bitcoin you lost virtually all your money.
Altcoin pumps lasted maybe 2 weeks maximum per asset. If you didn’t exit the one pump it was over.
If you used any exchange, it got hacked, died, scammed and you lost your money. Imagine if every exchange you used until 2018 would FTX you at some point, so you had to dodge every single one.
You were programmed over years to not buy new things, especially “IPOs” (pre ICOs) because they never shipped anything and you lost your money. 2017 participants were conditioned to try new things and take risks after being serially rewarded for it.
2014-16 was by far the worst bear market I have experienced, and there was not a lot of previous evidence to give you hope for the future. 2017 onwards had the beginnings of defi. By 2022 bear market it was obvious crypto was here to stay and it was a “when” rather than “if”.
Up until ‘16 crypto was seen as dodgy/illegal/drug money, so there was a lot more social pressure/dissuasion from committing your life and time to it.
Joining 2016/17 or even 2019 imo were optimal. You got basically the same prices as 13ers on the important assets but without all the ptsd, incorrect and useless conditioning and learnings which is hard to shake, and without 5+ years of fatigue.
