I JUST FOUND A LONG-TAILED SKUA AT @BeddingtonFarm !!! I couldn’t believe it when I nearly stood on it hidden in the grass 😭 Looks exhausted but not injured - now been taken into care 🙏🙏 #birding #BirdsSeenIn2024

A record-breaking Little Tern season at Spurn! A minimum of 116 pairs fledged 149 young, beating the previous best of 107 by 42 birds — almost 40%.
Huge thanks to our wardens, January’s crowdfund supporters and The National Lottery Heritage Fund for funding the project.
Barred Warbler at Potato Field at Spurn, lost for last 10 mins. Records shots attached: #spurnbirds – at Kilnsea, England
Another couple of juvenile Caspian Gulls off Chalk Bank at Spurn this morning, including this individual. Some birds also showing possible hybrid features, which I’ll try and photograph over the next few days #spurnbirds – at Kilnsea, England
As well as the Caspian Gulls, there were 2 juvenile YLGs along the peninsula at Spurn today too. One on the humber off Potato Field and one flying S over Chalk Bank #spurnbirds – at Kilnsea, England
At least 3 juvenile Caspian Gulls and another possible (?) juv Casp stood on the deck, all togged this afternoon down the Peninsula at Spurn. The largest group of juvs I’ve seen here so far this year #spurnbirds – at Kilnsea, England
The White-rumped Sandpiper again showed amazingly on the beach by Beacon Ponds this morning, it seems to be the “original” bird rather than yesterday’s new individual 👀 #spurnbirds – at Kilnsea, England

Myself and @rossa599 were treated to superb views of the White-rumped sandpiper at Beacon ponds this morning. A top find by @easingtonbirds yesterday
The White-rumped Sandpiper present at Beacon Ponds showed pretty well just now 😍 #spurnbirds – at Kilnsea, England
Some of the worst photos of all time but this is all the documented evidence me and Colin Bushell have of the probable Semipalmated Sandpiper at Oustrays NR this evening. Light was bad and bird was very mobile. Scope views were better and all features noted were pro SemiP 🤷♂️
Pallid Swift photographed on the 27th at the Warren at Spurn at 16:30, per me and Toby Stapleton. Much trickier ID than Harry Appleyard’s bird as it raced through and photos only obtained as it flew away. Consensus is that ID is still just about clinchable as Pallid! #spurnbirds

After trawling through countless Azure Damselflies here last year and through this spring, over the moon to finally find the first Variable Damselfly for Spurn in the form of a male in Corner Field this morning. A new Yorkshire site! #Spurndamselflies @spurnbirdobs

Really nice to see this Dartford Warbler at Beddington Farmlands over the weekend. It took ages to get it to sit still though, and my hands were freezing… 🥶
Super happy to see this Black-faced Bunting after an extremely quiet autumn so far at Spurn, makes up for all the days counting Robins and Dunnocks!! 😂
So happy to finally clinch this Hume’s Warbler at Spurn today! My first BB rarity find, still buzzing 😅😅
Small consolation for dipping the Needletail at Scarborough was this 1st-winter Caspian Gull north past Scalby Mills at 17:00
Thought my day couldn’t get any better when I picked up a Richard’s Pipit flying south at Spurn but a few hours later I had a buzzy wagtail go south over Chalk Bank! Some discussion as to whether it’s a Citrine or an Eastern Yellow Wag, recording attached below: #spurnbirds
