Watched my #vote travel over 5,000 km to get in. Here's hoping Kamala Harris gets in too.

Seeing a lot of hot press takes on Manifest V3, but so far I've only seen one person acknowledge the safety+privacy+performance benefits & actually test the difference: xda-developers.com/google-ch… h/t @AdamConwayIE👀

We have been working on the Multi IdP API for years, and we finally managed to get it out there! Massive UX challenges!
The implementation of the button mode on android also presented a lot of challenges!
Onwards!

If you don't want your activity on Twitter/X be used to train Grok/LLM, you may disable it here (xitter.cf/settings/grok_settings). You're opt-in by default. Yes, that potentially may be an infringement of #GDPR, and perhaps Digital Services Act.

We'll update the developer docs soon, but this doesn't change the core implementation work to move away from third-party cookies. The APIs and cookie feature changes you need to make your site more private and more secure are ready *right now* - do it for your users.
Today is a big day for the Privacy Sandbox team. privacysandbox.com/intl/en_u…
We announced that we’re proposing a new approach to Sandbox on the web that we believe works for the entire industry (publishers, devs, advertisers, etc.). We plan to prioritize user choice in order to support a competitive marketplace as we advance privacy-enhancing tech.
And in case that wasn’t enough Sandbox news, our colleagues on the Ads team also published sell-side/buy-side results showing the current potential of the APIs.
Buy-side: support.google.com/google-ad…
Sell-side: support.google.com/admanager…
As we said last week, we expect performance to continue to improve as adoption expands, and believe there is a significant opportunity for companies who are investing in privacy-preserving technologies. privacysandbox.com/news/lear…
We know you have questions, but we wanted to announce this new path early as we understand this transition requires significant work. Looking forward to sharing more soon!

Update: the paper which Apple references to argue that Topics API is a significant privacy risk has critical and fundamental problems. Random-number generator is badly seeded, which may mean that the results are flawed. github.com/yohhaan/topics_ap…
Replying to @lukOlejnik
Apple is also criticising a (the least exciting, though) part of Google's Privacy Sandbox, the Topics API. Apple is directing a big punch at (and huge criticism of) Google's Topics API. This part sounds as an opinion piece (publicistic entry):
"imagine what advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence can deduce about you based on various combinations of interest signals. What patterns will emerge when data brokers and trackers can compare and contrast across large portions of the population?"

Nice to see this Privacy Sandbox study by @wearemiq that really digs into the Attribution Reporting API (ARA), as ARA has been neglected elsewhere. 1/3
