Highly recommend this gig in London if you can make it!
Tomorrow Saturday I’m doing a split bill comedy hour with my brilliant friend Jack Hester at the South Kensington Comedy Club at 9pm. We’re doing 30 minutes of jokes each. If you fancy coming, here’s the link with info and tickets: eventbrite.co.uk/e/an-italia…

Works out at roughly 600 voters per English, Welsh and Scottish constituency turned away because of ID problems. Might not sound like much until you factor in that there were 20 MPs elected with majorities of under 500. The VoterID Law is not fit for purpose.

Greens won 9 of 16 seats up for election (56%), up from just 1 seat the last time these were contested (2021).
Just voted in today's London elections, if you're eligible to vote in them, please do! Remember the Tories have introduced voter-suppression in requiring specific demographic-biased photo ID - you'll need that to vote.

🗳️ TODAY IS THE DAY! DON'T FORGET TO VOTE!
💚Vote for Green Mayor of London @ZoeGarbett
💚Vote for your Green Party constituency candidate
💚Vote for The Green Party
🏘️ London needs a change. The time is now.
#VoteGreen

ALT A Green Party graphic. There is a green background with the text "Vote Green Today". Underneath is three coloured boxes that mimic the three ballots. A pink box that says, Mayor of London - Zoe Garbett with a cross, a yellow box with the text, London Assembly (Local) - Green Party with a cross and an orange box with the text London Assembly (London-wide) - Green Party with a cross.
Leafing through the list of candidates for the Mayor of London elections, it's amazing how many of them are campaigning on the "We'll give you dirtier air & suffocate your children" platform. 6 of the 13 want to scrap ULEZ, abolish Congestion Charge, get rid of LTNs, etc.
Had such a great time doing this! Wonderful experience doing a talk at @NerdNiteLondon - I'm hoping to go back next month and with any luck see @Barbsatron deliver her talk on empathy!

Here's a #Scala thing I've been working on recently - a reusable GitHub workflow for publish Scala libraries to Maven Central, with secure isolation for release credentials, and automated compatibility-based version numbering - github.com/guardian/gha-scal… -so much easier than before!
Replying to @thegriefcast
@thegriefcast when someone dies, different people can have incompatible narratives about that person, even if they all love the deceased very much. I'd like to ask if there is any advice or discussion or even poetry on how those people can grieve together.
For the person who holds the 'flawed' narrative, this is frustrating - they can't speak at the funeral, and have to censor themselves around the rest of the family. The value and joy of their relationship with the deceased has to be hidden away, made to feel insignificant.

It’s official: the new Voter ID Law suppressed the vote, was discriminatory, and made things worse. These are the conclusions of all-party report, co-written by the minister who introduced the law in the first place! theguardian.com/politics/202…
