JFK didn’t use his family name and connections to get 5 deferments so none of this should be surprising... 40+% of American approving of DJT should be...

Unpopular opinion: Ukrainians don’t need another speech about how inspiring we are. We need air defense, electricity and a winter without funerals.

🥇 TWO JOURNEYS. ONE DREAM. A DECADE IN THE MAKING. 🇺🇸 Nearly a decade separates Spencer Lee and Bo Bassett in age. There was a time when Bo was just a young kid from Western Pennsylvania, looking up to Spencer Lee. An aspiring wrestler admiring someone who represented everything he dreamed of becoming. Over the years, the wrestling world asked plenty of questions about both. Could Bo Bassett become the next Spencer Lee? Could Spencer Lee ever overcome the injuries that had taken so much from him? And even with some similarities, their paths couldn’t have been much different. Bo seemingly burst onto the scene destined for greatness, accomplishing extraordinary things at nearly every stop along the way. At just 20 years old, in his first opportunity on the senior world stage, he became a world champion. Spencer’s journey was different. A generational young talent whose career was repeatedly interrupted by devastating knee injuries. Years of surgeries, rehabilitation, setbacks, and uncertainty. Enough adversity to make even the greatest athletes wonder how much more they could endure. But he kept going. And this weekend, at 28 years old, Spencer Lee finally became a senior world champion, too. Think about that for a moment. The little boy who once looked up to Spencer Lee, and the man who refused to let his own story end prematurely, reached the same mountaintop on the same weekend. All those years spent wondering whether Bo would become the next Spencer. All those years wondering whether Spencer could ever become what everyone believed he was meant to be. And in the end, neither question really mattered. Bo didn’t have to become the next Spencer Lee. And Spencer Lee didn’t have to become the wrestler he was before his injuries. They simply had to keep becoming who they were meant to be. Two sons of Western Pennsylvania. Two very different journeys. Two world champions. And one old photograph that suddenly tells a much bigger story. Sometimes the beauty of wrestling isn’t just in where the journey takes you. It’s in realizing, years later, how those journeys end up connected all along. @BoBassett06 / @LeeSpencerlee36 🇺🇸

Translation: I’m bitter about losing and will now sabotage the Democratic Party.
Stevens: I stood with my party. I was booed off the stage. I am voting for Mike Rogers.

It's shady, but it's not illegal (like seizing ballots, for example). Wonder who they learned that trick from? Oh, that's right, Republicans. Dems finally playing as dirty as Republicans really caught you fuckers off guard.

President Trump attempted a coup, Dan people died. it was on the news.
The single, overriding question of our politics is whether Democrats will shatter our constitutional order in 2029-30. All other questions are secondary.

With Stevens endorsing Rogers over El-Sayed in Michigan. I fully anticipate those "Country over Party" posts praising her for here courage to flood Social Media.

Endless outrage over two Dan Sullivans—a political trick we’ve seen before and knew about a year ago. Meanwhile, Trump’s administration paid nearly $500 MILLION for a Minnesota prison the state says it was offered for $75 million. The seller donated $500,000 to Trump’s inauguration. Guess which story you’ve barely heard about.
One of the most brazen and atrocious Democrat cheating scandals in American history.

SPENCER LEE WON WORLD GOLD ON A TORN ACL. In his post-match presser, Lee revealed he tore his ACL for the 4th time about three months ago and hadn't been on a mat in 16 weeks. He almost gave up his spot. Instead, he teched four of his five opponents, came back from down 10-5 to pin his way through the semis, and won the 57kg World title. Now he says he'll probably need surgery, and he doesn't know if he'll be back next year. "I'm 28 years old. I don't got many more tears left in me."

Murashov is 22. He's a rookie. He hasn't played in two weeks. Him being a little rusty out the gate should almost have been expected. Folks need to level out a bit and temper their expectations.

The fact they took this picture in a giant empty parking lot. Didn’t crop it. Didn’t mention one of those is a State Rep in a close race and called it “Team Wagner” is….amazing. We had 35 people show up for our canvass kick off in an actual contested part of the district. Get out and vote folks! @WellmanForMO
Team Wagner is out in Ballwin talking to voters and highlighting our message of common sense and hard work. Get out and vote!

The guy who compared a Trump rally to Jonestown on live Fox News was invited by the Trump campaign. They called his work phone on Monday and asked him to come. His name is Tom Hoyle. He's 57 and runs a small custom printing shop in Charlotte called MadPark Designs with his business partner. He's hated Trump since 1989, back when he was a sophomore in college. And he really, really doesn't like getting sales calls on the shop line, from anybody. So when the rally people called, he said yes. He even signed up with his real name and contact info, because he wanted it on the record that they invited him. Then he had to get through the door. A private security guy asked him straight up if he was a Trump supporter. Tom told him he supports the Constitution, then started talking about his shirt, which was for an old death metal band called Death. He kept going about the history of Florida death metal until the guard gave up and let him in. His plan going in was honestly pretty juvenile. He and a buddy he grew up with figured he'd wait a few minutes into the speech and yell something filthy. Then a Fox News reporter, Lucas Tomlinson, found him standing off by himself and asked if he could interview him live. Tom thinks a white guy with a big beard and a ball cap was pretty much exactly what they were looking for. He told himself he wasn't going to cuss on national TV, so he made it up on the spot. He says the first line and then just waits. The reporter goes "Wait, the Jonestown Massacre?" and that's when he finishes it. He told The Handbasket he picked that up from Billy Crystal, who said on Letterman back in the '80s that you always let the other guy set up your punchline. Tomlinson set it up for him perfectly. A few minutes later some men who said they were Secret Service pulled him aside. He asked if this was about the concession stand, because it closed early and he was starving. They didn't love that and walked him out. On his way out he passed the guard from the front door and told him, hey man, you didn't vet me too well. Think about how many people had a shot at stopping this. The campaign's call list found him. The signup form had his name. A guard questioned him to his face. A Fox crew put him on live TV. Every one of them took one look at the beard and the hat and filled in the rest. That's how almost all of this screening works. Asking somebody what they actually believe takes time, and looking at them takes a second, so everybody just looks. The one check that actually caught him came after he'd already said it on national TV.
Fox: Why are you here this morning? Trump rally attendee: Well, in the late 70s, I was a little too young to go to South America for the Jonestown Massacre. But this is as close as I'll ever get, so that's why I'm here. There's nothing like seeing a cult right up front.

A lack of spare parts for aircraft due to sanctions was a serious problem for Russia. Trump rushes to Putin’s rescue yet again, while Russia concedes nothing and continues to murder Ukrainian civilians.
The United States has lifted restrictions on the Boeing Corporation’s engagement with the Belarusian national airline, Belavia -Igor Cherginets, Director General of Belavia, as reported by the news agency BelTA. The U.S. Department of Commerce has granted Boeing authorization to work with the Belarusian airline. "This will allow Belavia to directly obtain spare parts, components, and software for the aircraft currently in its fleet. Furthermore, it paves the way for negotiations regarding the direct acquisition of aircraft from Boeing. It is worth noting that a similar authorization had previously been issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, which provided the technical framework for direct cooperation between Belavia and Boeing. A year ago, the U.S. government issued an authorization that removed all sanctions—specifically political sanctions—against Belavia," the airline’s Director General stated.

Jess McClain just got 2nd at the NYC Marathon. In 2020, she walked away from professional running when it became "all about making the podiums and teams at all costs." Now, she becomes the first American to make the podium since 2018. Sometimes you have to let go to get the most out of yourself. McClain was a phenom, high school star, multiple time all-american in college, signed a pro contract. But it just wasn't working. "There was a point earlier in my career where it was all about making the podiums and teams at all costs. But I realized that was not the best approach...It's a fun-sucker when it's all about pace and you're focusing on splits every 200 meters." Jess found her way back to it doing it her own way working a full time job and staying busy. "I've lived the life of having running be my full-time job day in and day out. And personally, I just can't operate in the sport in a healthy way with that approach. I just need something else to focus on." The job gave her a safety net: "I knew at the end of the day I could blow up, but I would still have my job." She came back on her own terms and paved her own way to participating in the sport she loved and wrote her own definition of success. One with more perspective than we're sold online: "I realized, 'Ok, on this giant planet, running is a very, very small part of it...My friends and family love me because I'm Jess. And not because I'm an elite runner.' As silly as it sounds, my personal mission with running is just to keep it fun—to control what I can control and enjoy getting to the starting line. And I'm having a total blast." Now, she went toe to toe with the best marathoners on the planet, battled all the way to the finish. Too often, we paint the picture that there's only one way to the top. You've got to be obsessed, all-in, serious, no fun... That's not true. Yes, McClain works incredibly hard. But she's found a way to hold on to the love of the sport, to keep the fun that fuels her pursuit. There's a paradox when it comes to performance. You have to care deeply, but that care can become the thing that gets in the way. It starts to suffocate you, to take away the joy that made you fall in love with the pursuit in the first place. The best performers learn how to care deeply, but to hold it loose enough to keep the joy. To make it where it doesn't feel like do or die, but instead that they are free to explore their pursuit. T.S. Eliot once said, "teach us to care and to not care." He might as well have been talking about racing. Jess McClain just showed us that super power. Care deeply, but don't let it steal your joy. We are at our best, when we are doing what we love, together, with others by our side, and it being an expression of ourselves. Not a verdict on who we are.

Sensational run from Jess McClain, she stalked Obiri magnificently in that last mile and closed well to earn a brilliant runner-up finish in 2:24:42. Best result by an American at NYC Marathon since Shalane Flanagan won it in 2017.
