My 10 year old hugged me for 20 minutes while I cried in happiness. This is forever. Always ours. Thank you @Nationals and I love you all #Nats fans. More later. I'm gonna get emotional at home tonight. #StayInTheFight #WorldSeries #FINISHTHEFIGHT – at Washington, DC

Sally Field says Robin Williams shut down filming on Mrs. Doubtfire for the day when he found out her father had just died "I got a call from the doctor that my father had had another massive stroke." "But please lean down and tell him that Sally says goodbye." "I was doing the scene about the kids being taken away from the father. It was what happened to my father." "And Robin turned around and said, that's it for the day, guys. We're just wrapped here. We're done for the day." She went straight from that phone call to a scene about a family getting split up, and she was a child of divorce herself. Nobody on that set knew. Robin just noticed something was off and asked her. Then he did the one thing the guy at the top of the call sheet can always do. He ended the day and walked her out himself. More than thirty years later she still tells it like it happened last week. ft: @people People on youtube

I generally avoid political posts on here, but I really hope we can move away from this creeping rhetoric where half the country is getting punished based on who they voted for. We've already seen tangible examples with how Colorado was treated. I don't want the next Democratic administration to stiff Florida on hurricane funding to "punish" them for voting red. This attitude is antithetical to the whole concept of the Union and really needs to be addressed (I think it might be something actually worthy of impeachment). We're all Americans regardless of who you voted for. Sadly it feels like bipartisanship is dead sometimes, but we have to try.
President Trump suggests he will not providing funding for Georgia if Mike Collins isn’t elected: They need money for Georgia. I don’t give a damn.

FT: Liverpool 2 Brighton 0: That’s a massive win for Iraola’s side who climb to fourth in the PL table. Played some great stuff first half with the front three and Wirtz so influential. Defended brilliantly second half with Araujo absolutely outstanding. Big step forward.

Disappointing you lack the thought that others might live a different life than you. When I was a bartender I'd get off at 3am, catch a 6am flight with a connection to my in-laws. I'd get a burger, beer & Jameson at 8am as my HH.
I will never understand or comprehend the 8am double Woodford Reserve before takeoff guy.

I'm old, but I genuinely don't understand a huge goodbye like bro was a 3 year starter when he never played a down for the #Terps and was just a commit. Like, no hard feelings dude, see ya, and good luck. College sports are so weird nowadays 😅
A Thank You to the University of Maryland ❤️💛🐢 I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to the University of Maryland, the entire football coaching staff, and all the Terps fans for the support, encouragement, and love shown to me throughout this journey. To the coaching staff, thank you for believing in me, investing your time in me, I truly appreciate every conversation, every word of encouragement, and the relationships built along the way. To the Terps fans, thank you for welcoming me, showing me love, and continuing to support me. Your passion for Maryland football does not go unnoticed, and I’m grateful for every one of you. Thank you, Maryland, for everything. The love and respect will always remain. ❤️💛 @TerpsFootball @Terrapins247 @Insideblackgold @TurtleSportsNet

Shut the internet down, this video wins and there is no longer a need for the internet to exist.
This baby makes the street performer break her position.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This video matches a common AI-generated template of a baby kissing a gold-painted living statue on a park bench rather than authentic footage of a real street performer interaction. CC: @waltersbardc for budgeting season
An LA hospitality group runs 25 bars, many of them right by Dodger Stadium. Every extra playoff game means packed bars. An early exit means lost revenue they were counting on. So they hedged it. They put $60,000 on Kalshi on the Dodgers *not* making the World Series. The Dodgers lost the NLCS to the Brewers. The position returned nearly 2x, helping cover the playoff business that *never* came. A Columbia law professor told Fortune it works like “a form of bespoke insurance.” Read the full story here: fortune.com/2026/10/19/predi…

Straight from the Jameis Winston school of how to do sports interviews. 😅😅
No exaggeration, this guy might be the best interview in pro sports right now

It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically. Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country. Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case. Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve. In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota. The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

I have a MUCH bigger problem with the "team statement" font than the schedule change for weather. One of these things is actually in your control.

What do people think all that fine print says when they scroll past and agree to the T&C/TOS?? Welcome to adult society man 🤷🏻‍♂️
Bought tickets to the Guardians v Rays game tomorrow, MLB changed the game time from 6pm to 1pm, and my flight doesn't even get in until 2:30 What a joke. MLB can just...do that?

My south Asian ass posting brother, update your dated ass click bait post. No one that cares about a single one of these settings is plugging in their "streaming stick"
A guy will spend $1,000 on a 4K TV this month. He'll carry it home, mount it on the wall, and plug in his streaming stick. He'll sign in to Netflix, pick a movie, and hit play. The picture will look bright, sharp, and "wow" for the first 10 minutes. And for the next 5 years, he'll watch everything on the same factory settings that were designed to look good under showroom lights, not in his living room. He won't switch off the motion smoothing that makes a $200 million movie look like a daytime talk show. He won't change the "Vivid" picture mode that turns skin tones orange and crushes the dark scenes. He won't touch the sharpness setting that paints fake white outlines around every actor. He won't turn on the full HDMI signal his 4K console and streamer need to show true HDR. He won't use Game Mode properly. He won't enable HDMI-CEC to control everything with one remote. The TV isn't the problem. The settings are. Here are 7 changes that take 10 minutes and make any TV look closer to a cinema🧵

These posts are generally true. But these guys aren't Gods. They have tons of talent, work hard, catch some breaks, etc I only played D3, but from Legion ball onward played against Teixeira, Pat Burrell, Brian Roberts, others. They were good. I threw out Burls trying to steal 😘
I played D1 baseball in college. Best player I played against was Austin Kearns. Played against him in summer travel ball in high school. My team was full of serious players. And Austin made us look like middle school rec league dudes. He hit a line drive that hit the fence and didn’t get above 3 feet high. He went on to be a journeyman in the league. A below average big leaguer. And he was insane. He made our jaws drop with his skills. Normies have no idea.

Two takeaways: Junior, top 5 no doubt. Anyone who retorts with a RH hitter should be immediately blocked by any baseball fan with a modicum of self-respect.
True or false: Ken Griffey Jr has the prettiest swing of all time?

$300 million won't come close to getting this done properly. That said, this is a once in a generation opportunity. Do whatever it takes to make this world class. Signed, DC taxpayer
COULD THIS BECOME AMERICA’S MOST TRANSIT-ORIENTED NFL STADIUM? DC just approved $300 MILLION to rebuild Stadium-Armory Metro before the Commanders return in 2030. The challenge is enormous: • 65,000-seat stadium • Nearly 32,000 fans expected to enter Metro within one hour after events • Current station capacity: roughly 14,000 people per hour • Without upgrades, clearing the crowd could take more than two hours The project will add elevators, escalators, fare gates, a larger mezzanine and potentially a wider entrance. Another $5 million will begin planning the Gold Line BRT to Union Station. If you want tens of thousands of fans to leave their cars at home, this is the kind of investment it takes.
