Pastors are out to finish planet earth. Gosh.
Moment an American pastor and prophetess, who are both married, introduce a new wife to their congregation and announce that they are now in a polygynous marriage with a female church member, claiming it is the “will of God.” 😭🤦🏾‍♂️🙆🏾‍♂️

According to @UNFPAUganda, in Uganda, fewer than 1% of children under 18 have health insurance, an estimated 200,000 children out of over 23 million minors.

There is a school on Ndagire Road (Kamuli Road, as most of us call it), almost opposite the turn from the back of Kyambogo (Banda Circular Road). It appears to lock out pupils who arrive late. Because the school sits on a backstreet with its gate right at the roadside, these children end up waiting on the edge of a busy road. Locking out latecomers may have been an accepted way of instilling discipline in the 1980s, but today it puts children in real danger. All it takes is one speeding or drunk driver on a Monday morning for a tragedy to happen, and the school would then have very serious questions to answer. Discipline matters, but not at the cost of a child’s safety.

I'd feel bad for Man Utd but whenever I remember Gary Neville always talking sh.t about Arsenal, Evra calling us Netflix FC, van Der Sar saying Raya isn't a top goalie, & the onfield injustice Wenger faced over the years, I just keep wishing for their continued downfall.

Someone with money needs to create a space in Kampala for people who just want random human interaction. You pay a fee for the day, chat with strangers, & go your separate ways. No strings attached, no calling to ask "did you reach safely?", and no asking for transport money, etc. Just pure, low-maintenance vibes! 💪

Man City and Chelsea have lost. Tomorrow, Brighton will tame Liverpool and for Man Utd, there is no need reciting what Bournemouth will do to them. This will be a perfect footballing weekend.

I didn’t think it would be this bad.
Bournemouth at Old Trafford in 3 days. Should be easy for United, but this team is a jigger in the foot: small, annoying, and impossible to ignore until it’s gone. 😩⚽ #MUFC

A police chap in Uganda carried UGX. 129,000,000 into a sauna only to have it stolen. His being in a sauna is not the problem. Deposit Protection Fund estimates that only 40,000 - 60,000 Ugandans alive today have ever had UGX. 129M in liquid form. But a brother in police force carries it as part of what deposit at the entrance of a sauna as he strips himself naked to burn some of his body fat. A mess.

I have learnt a couple of things from this. Go on mate.
When a farmer raises an animal to 400 kg over 18 months and brings it to the abattoir, most of us assume the business is meat. It is more than that. That single slaughterhouse holds nine factories: bone meal, leather, tallow, horns and hooves, manure, biogas, pharmaceutical ingredients, blood meal, and only then the meat. About 150 kg of the animal is what we sell. The rest is value we abandon. The cost of abandoning it shows up in our import bill. We bring in close to a million kilograms of leather goods, 3.7 million kilograms of soap and candles from Kenya, and more than 300,000 tonnes of fertiliser every year. Much of this could come from animals we already slaughter. The jobs case is just as clear. Five jobs on each of the eight by-product lines gives 40 jobs per animal. An abattoir handling 150 animals a day carries 6,000 jobs. This thinking is the foundation of how we at PACEID (@paceidug) approach value addition across the 13 sectors we work on. Each sector is a value chain to be built at home, so that Uganda exports higher-value products rather than raw commodities. None of it happens in pieces, though. It takes ecosystem thinking: a large enough herd, land, energy, standards, skills and aggregation centres, planned together, with farmers connected to markets, finance and government. Argentina once fed Europe with its beef and missed the window to build the value chain. Our task is to make sure Uganda does not miss its own. Next week: We look at fish value chain. #ValueAddition #Exports #Uganda #Agribusiness #IndustrialDevelopment #PACEID

Uganda has a $50bn economy. By 2040, the plan is to grow by a 10 factor to $500bn, this requires a lot of investment inward to artificially precipitate the economy to that level in 14 years but there are laws in place saying.. “No… don’t bring your financial investments into this country..”. This is accelerating a car while clinging tight to your handbrake.

There is a peculiar class of Ugandans approaching 45: unmarried, uninterested in children, no further education in sight, perhaps never meaningfully employed, not doing anything big at the moment. They simply exist, quietly banking on the hope that somewhere between 50 and 70, life will finally demand something of them before they exit this world.

Sheilla was a good girl, totally saddened by her passing on.
Dear all, Sadly, we announce the passing on of Sheilla, who was battling Gastroparalysis. Due to multiple surgeries, the bill at Novik Hospital stands at around 20 million and we kindly need contributions to clear this bill and the hospital releases her body for burial Admin

Never give up in life. This guy was a rebel commander with the LRA and 2nd in command to Joseph Kony but he surrendered to government during the peace talks. He later went back to school emerging as the best candidate in S6 that year in the whole country. He recently graduated top of his class with a first class law degree officially becoming the first true legal correspondent in Uganda with NBS TV. Omwana Ndam Genius 🙌
