Uganda Connect International Buyers Week 2026 is being prepared around a simple economic question: how do we connect Uganda’s productive capacity to real international demand? From November 9–15, 2026, we will bring Ugandan producers and exporters closer to international buyers, creating opportunities for business-to-business connections, market intelligence, partnerships and trade. Preparations are already underway, including the ongoing sponsorship drive and upcoming export-readiness training to help participating businesses understand what international buyers require and prepare to meet those expectations. It is about building the relationships and market access that can lead to orders, production, investment, jobs and increased export earnings.

Following the July 21-24, 2026 engagements in Abuja at the request of H.E. President @KagutaMuseveni, today we were pleased to welcome Dr. Abubakar Ibrahim Kana, Permanent Secretary in Nigeria’s Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and agribusiness investor Mr Abdel Aziz Ahmed to PACEID HQ, ahead of the Uganda–Nigeria Business Forum. We returned to the practical questions that will determine whether this relationship delivers: getting Ugandan products into the Nigerian market at the Africa common market (ACFTA) rates, addressing issues of differing product standards, negotiating logistics and transportation charges, improving business mobility and connecting investors with opportunities in Uganda. Mr. Aziz already has agricultural-input operations in Uganda and outlined progress on a feed-mill investment Uganda needs. He also expressed interest in sourcing Ugandan milk, powdered milk, fish and potato products for his established Nigerian distribution network, subject to quality and competitive pricing. Our task is to follow through: connect his team with Ugandan processors, exchange product specifications and assess the costs of getting these goods to market. I thank Dr. Kana and our High Commission in Abuja, Amb Omara, for sustaining this engagement. As the Uganda Nigeria Business Forum begins, we must keep our attention on what follows the conversations: commercial orders, productive investment and greater value addition in Uganda.

Nigeria is one of Africa’s biggest economies and markets. For Uganda, deeper trade ties with Nigeria creates new opportunities for exporters, farmers, processors and businesses to access a large and growing consumer market. During a recent Nigeria-Uganda engagement, Uganda’s delegation, bringing together Government officials and private-sector players, made the case for expanding trade in coffee, milk, beef and other quality agricultural export products. The discussions focused on practical steps to make trade work better: operationalizing @AfCFTA protocols, reducing barriers to the movement of goods, services and people, exploring visa waivers, and establishing a Joint Trade Commission. Uganda is hosting the return leg of the engagement in Kampala , September 2026, providing an opportunity to move from discussions to practical commercial opportunities. The opportunity is clear: connect Ugandan production to Nigerian demand, remove barriers to trade, and create more value and jobs through exports. @mtic_uganda @AfCFTANG @UGHighCommNG @dbahati

Uganda’s first Uganda Connect Hub in Serbia, opened by H.E. @KagutaMuseveni, was conceived as more than a promotional space. It was a practical way of putting Uganda in the market, visible to buyers, investors, tourists and partners. Today, Serbia has four Uganda Connect Hubs, and the country has increasingly become a gateway for Uganda into the wider Balkan region. These hubs serve as market and information platforms: showcasing Ugandan products, connecting businesses with potential buyers, promoting investment opportunities, and telling the wider story of Uganda, including our magnificent tourism destinations. The impact is increasingly visible in trade. In May last year, Uganda shipped its first consignment of locally roasted coffee to Serbia. The market has also received Ugandan shea butter, fruits and vegetables, vanilla, leather and crafts, Uganda Waragi, among other products. This is the thinking behind Uganda Connect: presence creates visibility, visibility creates connections, and connections can create trade. Uganda must continue putting its products and its story directly in front of the world. @STOBratislav @OdrekRwabwogo

Uganda’s export journey is built through partnerships, markets and connections. PACEID's Pan African Congress Business Forum (PACBF) brought Ugandan producers and businesses closer to markets and international buyers. PACBF has since evolved into Uganda Connect International Buyers Week (UCIBW), reflecting a continued focus on one goal: connecting Uganda to more markets, growing exports and creating opportunities for our producers and businesses. The work continues. November 9-15, 2026 - Kampala Marriot Hotel, Nsambya Let's Meet. Connect. Trade.

The Food and Agriculture Regulatory Authority (FARA) is a major step forward for Uganda’s food safety, agricultural regulation and export competitiveness. By bringing veterinary medicines, agricultural chemicals, food and feed regulation under one dedicated framework, FARA can strengthen standards and make it easier for Ugandan products to meet international market requirements. PACEID is proud to have supported @MAAIF_Uganda and other Government partners in this process, from harmonising mandates and mobilising technical expertise to providing technical input toward the Bill’s development. This is collaboration in action: Government institutions working together to solve bottlenecks and open more markets for Uganda.
