Oh.
"A Globe and Mail investigation has found that Republican political operatives were on the ground in Alberta this year to assist the separatist campaign in its bid to leave Canada, while harbouring their own aspirations for the province to secede.
The Globe also found that when Alberta separatist leaders went to Washington to meet with the U.S. State Department, they offered up key assets from the province’s resource portfolio, including access to fresh water and royalties on crude oil, in exchange for help transitioning to independence."

Shameful! Albertans—& everyone in Canada—deserves health care that prioritizes patients over profits.

Wouldn’t it be nice to hear from a business man like @JasonCoppingAB to learn why he signed a Ministerial order to purchase a non-standard Tylenol, against expert advise, when an approved known version was available
70M wasted.
Not a single politician held to account so far.

No arms length.
Ministerial order from @JasonCoppingAB
The order and paper work is public
Here’s the thing: the AHS staff followed the order from their boss AND STILL got fired by the Premier.
No one is safe in this HC SYSTEM anymore. No admin can speak truth to power.
Irony Alert:
UCP are destroying universal HC simply so that the rich don’t have to travel out of province for low acuity surgery.
Meanwhile under their watch, ABs have to travel out of province for Emergency care in places like Oyen!!!
Explain that @AdrianaLaGrange

The Alberta government's justification for preferential paid access to diagnostics was the promise of reimbursement. But private for-profit companies can still set their own exorbitant prices far beyond the benefit rate??
Enough two-tier health care—Just expand public capacity!
The price for a CT scan varies greatly and depends on the body part being scanned. Prices range from $949 for a specialized, rapid scan of the chest, abdomen, or pelvis that uses dye to highlight any potential problem areas.

Talking to my colleagues in Edmonton EDs. Things have never been this bad… in >35yrs… not even close.
Our EDs have become almost non-functional for many.
And it will only get worse this fall.
And our Premier and Minsters are AWOL… only announcing unhelpful private care.
Alberta, we're "FUCKED" this fall season and Canada's public healthcare system is in serious trouble!!
The good news is that once patients get into the system, the care provided by our doctors, nurses and healthcare teams is among the best in the world, and nobody needs a Visa or Mastercard at the bedside.
The problem is getting timely access to that care.
Emergency departments are overcrowded because hospitals are full and we do not have enough staffed beds in ur country, especially Alberta.
In addition, far too many patients who no longer need acute hospital care are waiting for rehabilitation, home care, assisted living or continuing care. That blocks patient FLOW throughout the system.
As someone who considers himself a Progressive Conservative and has spent more than 35 years working in emergency medicine, I don't support the current direction of acute healthcare reform in Alberta.
This isn't about public versus private. It's about leadership, operational expertise and getting the fundamentals right.
We need experienced healthcare leaders who understand how hospitals actually function and who are accountable for improving patient flow, safety and outcomes.
Healthcare isn't ideological. It's operational.
P.S. Get Vaccinated and stay home if you are sick
My prediction this fall season: "It will be a "shit show" and the worst ER & Health system Crises in our lifetime...unless @ABDanielleSmith & @FreeAlbertaRob actually listen to the front line staff (for their own political hides)...
I would not count on Danielle to fix anything...she was a friend of mine and I have lost complete confident in her on healthcare... we are all on our own.
Someone, please tell me I am wrong...

Hey AB… you know who doesn’t train any of our future MDs or HC learners?
Chartered surgical facilities, and private-pay clinics.
Learners slow things down and get in the way of profit’s…
LaGrange and Smith know this and simply don’t care.
Replying to @FlapjackFly @edmontonjournal
We train many of the worlds best MD's. We turn away thousands of very qualified applicants every year.
Because government prevents us from taking them. Because they don't want more MD's.
Does that make sense?
