Pakistan’s foreign policy is heading towards disaster. We now live in a neighbourhood where none of our neighbours trust us. As Afghanistan and India deepen ties with an anti-Pakistan agenda, we have failed to safeguard Chinese investments while undermining relations with Iran at others’ behest. Soon, even the US and the GCC will see through our empty promises, photo ops and endless overcommitments.

“Imran Khan stands as a symbol of truth and justice in Pakistan a leader millions look up to. If even he can be treated so unjustly, what hope do ordinary Pakistanis have of receiving justice?” PTI’s @sayedzbukhari joins the @BBCWorld podcast to highlight the grave injustice facing Pakistan and its people. #ReleaseImranKhan

Because this is what so-called “real men” do. They throw disabled women and their belongings out of their homes. Perhaps it makes them feel powerful and empowered. But don’t worry, we will never stoop to your level or resort to such disgraceful tactics. Instead, we will watch the political demise of you and your party in KP. By the time this Governor’s Rule is over, I believe the PPP will have earned itself the distinction of being the most hated political party in the province.
Forcibly evicting @MuradSaeedPTI elderly and disabled mother from her home and throwing her belongings onto the street is state brutality at its most shameful. What kind of lawlessness targets the mother of a political opponent? This is a flagrant violation of human dignity, fundamental rights and the rule of law. This is Viceroy Kundis Rule for you.

Despicable arrests continue of elected representatives. But whatever happened to the emergency action against terrorists? Wasn’t there supposed to be some kind of immediate crack down that will rid the province of terrorism immediately?

Shameful and utterly condemnable! PTI’s elected MNA from Bannu, Maulana Naseem Ali Shah, was arrested from a mosque in a deeply disrespectful and unlawful manner. Dragging an elected representative away like a criminal is an affront to democracy and the rule of law. Such actions will only deepen resentment among the patriotic Pashtun’s. Decision-makers must come to their senses and release Maulana Naseem Ali Shah immediately. These tactics will not break PTI workers’ resolve. @PTIofficial

Do not get involved or fall into the trap of blaming and attacking the likes of Murad Saeed, Sohail Afridi or anyone else for that matter. This narrative is being pushed by the regime, with the aim of picking us off one by one. Instead, stand by your party, its leaders and your colleagues with grace, dignity and unity. Take careful note of those pushing the regime’s agenda by creating further divisions and chaos under the guise of blame games. Dividing us is their strategy. Standing united MUST be ours!

Couldn’t think of anyone more deserving . Thank you for all your services. Congratulations @SalmanKNiazi1 . Keep shining in these dark times.
Alhamdulillah, I have been honoured with the Best Human Rights Lawyer of the Year award by the North American Bar Council in collaboration with Blackstone School of Law. I dedicate this moment to my late friend, Arshad Sharif Shaheed, who inspired me to look beyond corporate practice and focus on human rights, to stand for those who cannot stand for themselves and speak for those who cannot speak for themselves

20 policemen kidnapped in Balochistan according to BBC. If Balochistan is not safe for the policemen, imagine the ordinary people.

Just to give you an idea of what is happening in Pakistan’s kangaroo courts. In FIR No. 96/2023, the Jinnah House case, the original FIR did not place @Hammad_Azhar outside Jinnah House. In fact, he was in Gakhar Mandi not even in Lahore. Yet, he has been kept in physical remand for 50 days. The prosecution claimed nothing had been recovered but the court order already mentioned a stick and rather conveniently, a petrol bomb. Apparently, it took three and a half years to discover these items. @UNHumanRights @amnesty @amnestysasia @UN_HRC @UN

Our stance has always been crystal clear on terrorists and terrorism.
Many people have raised questions about alleged links between the PTI government and the TTP. Apart from the other evidence, I believe this video clip alone is enough

Our two Chief Ministers, the Speaker, and multiple ministers are missing. Former Federal Minister Hammad Azhar will now spend a cumulative 50 days on remand, with his cooked-up case going nowhere. It’s very obvious that this emergency was never about dealing with terrorism, but rather about further cracking down on the largest and most popular political party in the country. Ideally, they would only want to keep the faces they approve of within PTI. This plan will also fail; it’s just a matter of time. The fact that they are still in such a state of panic, four years into their dictatorial rule, tells us only one thing: we are winning, and they are in a worse position than when they started.

Deeply saddened by this tragic news. My heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to the families who have lost their loved ones. No words can ease the pain of such a loss. May Allah grant the departed eternal peace and give their families strength, patience and comfort during this incredibly difficult time. Ameen.

This is just ridiculous, lawyers doing their job aren’t even safe anymore.
Advocate Bashir Wazir, who yesterday filed habeas corpus petitions seeking the recovery of the abducted Chief Minister and Speaker of the KP Assembly, has reportedly himself been abducted in broad daylight outside the Peshawar High Court. This is a grave assault on the rule of law, the independence of the legal profession and the administration of justice

Just to let you know @BBhuttoZardari , he takes orders from Islamabad. Does the your Sindh government do the same? Governor @fkkundi start with taking and giving orders for KP from Peshawar, no where else.

🚨Welcome to Governor’s Rule. Emergency. Coup! This was always our greatest fear: how the regime would treat their own people in KP. Today, it was Bara Bazaar, Khyber. Tomorrow, it could be anywhere in KP. Whether PTI governs the province or not, the regime must urgently rethink their strategy and decisions. How does any of this serve Pakistan’s interests? Are we deliberately pushing KP towards an even deeper crisis, potentially worse than the one already unfolding in Balochistan?

PAKISTAN: Responding to the declaration of a state of emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as the imposition of governor rule and the deployment of armed forces in the province, Amnesty International said: “Reports of arbitrary detentions of key leaders – including the provincial chief minister – and internet disruptions across the province raise concerns about the proportionality of these emergency measures. While states may, in strictly limited circumstances, derogate from their human rights obligations to respond to a public emergency that threatens the existence of the nation, emergency measures are not a blank cheque to crack down on human rights, silence dissent, or concentrate power.” READ MORE: amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2…
