🚧SCDOT has officially broken ground on the I-95 Widening & Improvements Project in Jasper County, the largest project in our history. This work will widen lanes, upgrade interchanges and bridges, add a new Savannah River bridge, and reduce congestion to improve safety.

SCDOT is encouraging drivers to avoid travel as wind speeds associated with Tropical Storm Helene have caused downed trees and other debris in roadways. If you must travel, SCDOT asks that you use caution and report any downed trees or debris to us directly at 855-467-2378.

SCDOT has been awarded $175 million by @USDOTFHWA to replace 4 bridges on I-95 over Lake Marion. The grant will allow the bridges, originally built in 1968, with narrow shoulders and roadway approaches, to be rebuilt into one bridge with two 12-ft lanes in both directions.

The section of I-20 Westbound over the Wateree River that has been closed since Thursday is now reopened for traffic. Following an emergency closure, SCDOT crews worked around the clock to make repairs to the bridge structure and reopened the bridge in just over 48 hours.
