While in medical school, I had drinks with so many people building things in the region. Mr. Leo, the owner of Global Bus, was the first, and he showed me how much you can learn from people like him. I met all sorts: hospital owners, guys in tourism like the team at Igongo Cultural Center, farmers with huge operations in Kisoro, Bushenyi, Rukunguri, lawyers, politicians, lecturers, you name it.
These people completed my education.
One time, I even took a bus to Entebbe Airport just to have a chat with someone I’d been chasing for months. He gave me a few hours before his flight.
It’s crazy how much of what you need to know is held by people who may never write books, run YouTube channels, or give public lectures. We want to extend this kind of learning through our @mejo_africa Fireside Chats. We've asked these incredible people out for coffee, on your behalf. Come ask them questions, learn from them, and have some amazing conversations.
