Over a decade ago, the 1st working prototype of Aina was developed at IISc by Apoorv as part of his CAD coursework.
This version of Aina was a ring designed for women's safety. It gradually evolved into a ring which could predict what users wanted and control the smartphone.
He spent months working through the engineering challenges. A year later, he co-founded LazyCo with Yogansh Namdeo.
In 2019, they'd raised nearly $40k from 166 backers on Kickstarter for the original Aina ring (similar form factor but very different functionality).
LazyCo was too early for its time, COVID disrupted the business momentum and the team had a shoestring budget of ~₹70 lakhs of grant funding
Ultrahuman acquired LazyCo. Apoorv joined as VP of Hardware
> Developed UH’s 1st ring in 2022 - the iconic R1 ring which won the Red Dot Design Award in 2023
> Developed Ring AIR in 2023 - their flagship unit (selling 50k units per month at peak)
> Established UH’s in-house manufacturing capabilities
UH’s hardware pedigree & design aesthetic has spawned multiple companies e.g. Abhishek Sahu who started Dreamspan, Anant Sharma who started Moware etc.
When I spoke to Apoorv last year, he shared one key lesson from his UH experience: “If you're serious about software, you have to build your own hardware.”
He is a man with deep conviction. In 2025, he stepped out of UH to pursue a question that had occupied him for nearly a decade: what is the most natural interface between humans and computers?
He didn't go back and rebuild his old ring. Instead, he took a 1st principles customer discovery led approach which led to 3 launches at CES 2026:
(a) Radiance, a dedicated controller for video meetings.
(b) Shift, a physical button to trigger AI-agent workflows.
(c) Dune, a context-aware three-key keyboard that changed its functions depending on what you were doing.
Dune resonated most. The team shipped 500 units and gathered feedback from early adopters. They explored multiple form factors and ended up identifying the ring with a screen as the only practical solution.
Apoorv's original insight has survived all these years: the fastest, most effortless actions are often tiny movements of the human body. But, a LOT has changed since.
AI now understands far more context. Software agents can increasingly act on our behalf. Apoorv now has years of experience building and manufacturing consumer hardware at scale.
This time around, the timing might just be right. Apoorv is also much better capitalized: Aina has raised $5.5m from Info Edge, 360 ONE & a roster of fantastic Angel investors.
Apoorv’s bet is that as AI makes software intelligent and proactive, we'll spend less time telling computers what to do and more time making quick decisions about what they propose.
It is always delightful to see a founder overcome adversity, find success in his next act & now pursue his life’s work.
Aina’s 148 second feature video is 148 months of Apoorv’s life, soul & hardwork:
What if your devices, apps and agents knew what you wanted?
You finish breakfast, and your Uber is booked.
Running late, your agent sends a “Running late” text.
You reach home, and your lights turn on.
AI is proactive now. But it still needs your yes. It waits, for you to unlock your phone, open an app and tap approve. Every time, hundreds of times a day.
AI needs its own interface.
Aina is a ring with a screen that predicts and shows you the three things you’ll need next. One flick of your thumb, and it’s done. For everything.
✦ Cues: proactive suggestions, ready before you need them
✦ Voice: talk to your agents, take notes, dictate
✦ Remote: control your music, Mac and TV
✦ Calls: right from your hand

Most AI wearables track you. @AinaInterface helps you act.
I paid for the ring and have been testing it for a couple of weeks. The form factor and feature set are what convinced me.
I truly believe this is the best AI-native wearable on the market right now. Pre-orders from $399, shipping early 2027.
Shoutout to @lazyapprove and the Aina team for building this.

NEW: Aina unveiled a smart ring with a display that lets you approve AI agents, book an Uber, take calls, and control your devices.
It connects to your iPhone and Mac so agents can work in the background and bring decisions to your finger instead of making you open an app.
-See agent requests on the display and approve or reject them with your thumb.
-Book your usual Uber with a swipe when Aina knows it's time to leave.
-Take phone calls directly from the ring.
-Turns into a remote for music, your Mac, meetings, and TV.
-Press and hold to talk to your agents, take notes, or dictate.
-Surfaces actions based on your calendar, location, and daily routines.
Pricing start at $399.

1 day to go.
15 months of hardware, built from scratch in bengaluru @AinaInterface . from the first board to the final unit, we’ve been waiting a long time to talk about this.
tomorrow, it’s finally out in the world.

The right Human-Computer Interface doesn’t just change computers. It changes what humans can do. And every great shift in computing came from software and hardware built together.
The Mouse and the GUI brought Personal computing.
The Touchscreen, iOS and the App Store put Mobile computing in our hands like never before.
AI is the most powerful technology we’ve ever built. But for most of us, its has been trapped in software. Imagine what we could do when we pair it with the right hardware interface.
We have spent the last 15 months obsessing over this Interface, built from the ground up, for AI. The fastest way for humans to communicate with computers.
We couldn’t be more excited to show you.
November 5. Everything Changes.

This was a fun challenge to design. There’s a lot more to the box that the video doesn’t show 🤐. Any guessed on it works?
While I am participating in @wholemars audio space happening now I am enamored with this box that just showed up.
I can’t tell you what it is until sometime in November. But the packaging is dope.
When you present your product to the Apple Store team, if you want to be sold at its stores, you must let them open your box.
This one will pass all their tests and opinions.

Some people around you are already living in the future.
You might have sat next to one at a café. Seen one looking a little too calm during a meeting. Or noticed someone who never seems to reach for their phone (anymore!).
Our team is in San Francisco right now, along with some of our early pilot users. So keep an eye out.
Think you’ve spotted one of us? DM us what you saw. If you’re right, we’ve got a spot saved for you for early access.
Aina Private Pilot is live.
We can’t wait to show you what the future of interfaces looks like. Very soon.

On July 16, we announced our $5.5M seed for Aina after nearly a year of building in stealth. It was built around a thesis we've been working toward since July last year.
“Keyboards and phone touchscreens were designed for the era of Browsing. We'd think of what we need, unlock a device, navigate, find an app, type or tap, and execute the task.
With AI and agents, we just say or write what we want, and it gets done. The browsing step disappears entirely.
Soon, AI assistants will deepen their understanding of our context, calendars, and activities. They'll become proactive and suggest what we need, and all we'll do is say yes. Much of our day-to-day will be handled this way.
We call this the era of Approvals."
The world of software has changed. The hardware interface hasn't. We are still using an interface designed for Browsing when Browsing isn’t needed.
Today, with Agents like Muse, Instinct, and Dot changing how we manage daily tasks, it’s becoming evident that our interaction with computers has significantly changed, and we are heading towards the age of approvals. We need a better way to interact with assistants/computers than pulling out our phones and texting.
That was the idea behind the video we made for our funding announcement, which reached 1.8M views, leading to thousands of signups for Aina’s Pilot.
Aina’s Pilot is live, the first few units have been shipped, and we will keep sharing more on our Thesis and the product decisions that led us here as we get closer to announcing what we have been building.
Almost there!

Today, I'm breaking down the positioning of Robinhood UK.
In this video, I explore how Robinhood UK positions itself, how it compares vs competitors, and what their customers say about them.
Disclaimer: I don’t work at Robinhood (yet).
If you’re in the UK and use Robinhood or another investment app, I’d love to 30 minutes of your time to understand how you use these apps.
If you work at Robinhood UK, I'd love to join your product marketing team.

Couldn't agree more. We've been building toward this thesis for over a year. When we move from Instructing to Approving for everyday agentic actions, where we just say yes, we'll need a better interface than phone screens.
P.S. Glad to have you in the Pilot :)
Shipping soon.
Muse will be the top installed app for a while thanks to Meta’s distribution might..
But they are starting to have a retention issue: most people still don’t know what to do with a personal agent, so they lose interest after a while.
I bet Muse will get much more proactive rather than reactive like it is today:
“I can take care of this for you. Want me to?”
I think there are a LOT of money saving opportunities in finance
“Your credit card is charging 27% interest. You qualify for a much cheaper way to pay it off. Want me to move it?”
“You have $8,000 sitting in checking earning almost nothing. Want me to move the excess to a higher-yield account?”
“You’re paying off three debts. Putting your extra $300 toward this one first will save the most interest. Want me to change the payments?”
“Your car insurance just went up 22%. Want me to shop for a cheaper policy?”
“You’re paying for two subscriptions you haven’t used in months. Want me to cancel them?”
“Your employer will match another 2% of your 401(k) contributions. Want me to increase it?”
“Your credit card annual fee is coming up, but you barely used the benefits. Want me to downgrade it?”
Other non finance examples:
“Your kid’s soccer practice moved to 6:30. Want me to tell your spouse and update the calendar?”
“This group chat has been trying to pick a restaurant for three days. Friday at 7 works for everyone. Want me to book it?”
“Your package is delayed and will now arrive while you’re at work. Want me to change the delivery?”
“Your sister’s birthday is Saturday. Here are three gift ideas under $50.”
“You usually order groceries on Sunday. Want me to rebuild last week’s cart?”
“You told your friend you’d send them those photos. Want me to do it?”
“You’re running late for dinner. Want me to text the group your ETA?”
“One of the Marketplace couches you saved just dropped $100. Want me to message the seller?”
“Your flight is delayed. Want me to tell the person picking you up?”
“You’ve been trying to make plans with three friends. Saturday afternoon is the only time everyone is free. Want me to organize it?”
“Your dentist asked you to reschedule. I found three open appointments that work with your calendar. Pick one?”
“Your child’s school sent a permission slip due Friday. Want me to remind you tonight?”
“You said you need to return something to Target. The return window closes in four days. Want me to remind you when you’re near one?”
Basically moving from: You think of a task → you ask → AI helps.
To:
AI notices something → suggests an action → you approve.
Then you trust it and Muse handles routine things automatically and tells you afterward.
IMO people aren’t going to keep opening an agent because it can answer questions, unless they are subbing muse for ChatGPT; I don’t think it’s there yet…
They’ll keep opening it because it keeps saving them time, remembering things they forgot, and taking annoying little tasks off their plate.
