Myriam was a 7-year-old French Jewish girl. She witnessed a terrorist break into her school and kill two of her classmates.
She tried to run but tripped while grabbing her schoolbag, causing her ballet slippers to fall out. She stopped to pick them up. He chased her and grabbed her by the hair, shooting her in the head at point-blank range.
The man was Mohamed Merah, and a rap song honoring him and other Muslim terrorists has become the unofficial anthem of the ‘student protests’ in France.
I just jumped halfway out of my chair because I saw, out my window, what looked like something literally on fire, falling to the ground. I only realized half a second later, when there was no sound, that it must have been a yellow leaf spinning and shimmering in sunlight.

If find yourself blindly supporting every student lead movement, you’ll be wrong very often, in many eras, on many issues.
A good rule of history: if you find yourself opposing a student movement while siding with the ruling class, you're wrong. Every time, in every era, whatever the issue.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Student movements have not always been on the right side of history. Mao's student Red Guards persecuted hundreds of thousands. Students helped Castro and Khomeini rise to power, and Nazi student groups opposed the Weimar Republic.

Worth remembering FWIW that Bukele himself is of Palestinian heritage. Civilization is a cultural choice, not a “race”, despite the far left-right horseshoe’s obsession with dividing up the world between “white” and “POC” (both ultimately meaningless categories).

This is a societal choice.
It should serve as a warning to other western countries who similarly refuse to address the threat of unvetted migration and domestic radicalization.

I do actually think explicitly supporting a purge of media and police in an Islamist state takeover should permanently disqualify someone from taking US office—or, in other words, that it is actively wrong for people to vote for El-Sayed, independent of other positions
Abdul El-Sayed signed on to an Arabic-language statement in 2012 demanding that the Muslim Brotherhood “purge” media and police in Egypt.
The repressive Islamic group carried out a brutal religious crackdown on the press soon thereafter, @LevineJonathan reports.

During one of the early elections in the State of Israel, someone asked the Chazon Ish if it was a mitzvah to vote.
The Chazon Ish said yes.
“A mitzvah like eating matzah?!” the student asked.
“No,” the Chazon Ish explained, “a mitzvah like eating maror.”

I know the left can’t be honest about this, but there has been a serious psychological impact on young men who have been told their entire life that they’re not who they want at their company/ organization/ university/ etc…
PSA: There is no such month as “Cheshvan”.

Under the UN Genocide Convention, genocide requires specific intent to destroy a national, ethnic, racial or religious group as such, plus listed acts.
Hamas’s 10/7 attack showed clearer intent: leaders’ explicit calls to annihilate Israel and Jews, plus planned civilian massacres killing ~1,200. Multiple legal analyses find it meets the standard.
Israel’s response targets Hamas militarily amid urban combat with human shields. High Palestinian deaths and some rhetoric raise concerns, but official aims and contested expert views (ICJ merits still pending) do not establish equivalent group-destruction intent.
Thus Hamas’s attack aligns more closely.

The 85-year-old who chose to die to save his family.
On October 7, Hamas terrorists went from house to house in Kibbutz Nahal Oz.
Shlomo Ron, 85, understood what was happening - but he had a plan.
He told his wife, two daughters, and grandson to hide in the safe room. They tried to convince him to come inside with them.
He refused.
Shlomo believed that if the terrorists entered and found an old man sitting alone in the living room, they would assume he lived alone, kill him, and move on without searching the rest of the house.
So he sat down in his armchair and waited.
The terrorists entered.
They saw Shlomo alone.
They shot him dead—and moved on without searching the rest of the house.
Exactly as he had hoped.
His wife, daughters, and grandson survived.
Shlomo Ron, one of the founders of Nahal Oz, was 85 years old and unarmed.
His final act was to give his life to protect his family.

The Cornell 7 case is consent-based morality failing its own stress test
What happened was legal and consensual, but that doesn’t make it right
Now the sex positivity movement is stuck between a rock and a hard place: they have to either admit they were wrong or argue against the facts
