"We don't do this because it's easy, but because we thought it would be easy" - me taking on any farm project

As an ex atheist who sought the truth, going wherever cold and rigorous logic lead, I can attest to this from personal experience.
Against my upbringing and inclination, and very much against my will, logic forced me to conclude that sodomy, polygamy, adultery, divorce, fornication, and contraception were not only imprudent and ignoble, but grave moral evils.
I found none of my fellow atheists, who so boasted themselves to be champions of science and reason, to look at basic scientific facts. Their arguments in favor of disbelief were weak to the point of parody, and one and all had some sort of nonsensical psuedo-religious crockpottery (anarchy or socialism or environmentalism or transhumanism) to occupy the natural human yearning for the divine which was otherwise absent from their lives.
So I started reading the SUMMA THEOLOGICA of Thomas Aquinas.
Well, for a man of logic, once one opens the most precise and rigorous thinker since Euclid, there is no escape.
So I started looking in ernest. I prayed, thinking I would not be answered.
I challenged Him to show Himself, to prove himself, to give me evidence.
Be careful what you wish for.
I asked for water. I was overwhelmed with floods.
Miracles answered, and saved my life. Apparitions visited and spoke to me. I had visions beyond time and space. I experienced rapture and ecstacy. I saw God.
Why was I shown these things when many more deserving are left thirsting in the dark for some sign of the Eternal and Almighty, the source and summit of all being?
I have no idea.
No one could be less worthy.
I was a blasphemous atheist who never let a day pass when I did not mock and belittle Christ and all Christian things. My contempt was absolute.
But He came to me, and now I am his.
Seeing is believing, but one has to start believing to start seeing.

My mother stole from my grandmother who was raising her three children.
We were 5, 4, and 1 years old when my mother decided she didn't want us. My biological parents were granted a divorce, and because my grandmother didn't want us in foster homes, she took us in to raise us at the age of 73. The judge asked her if she could provide a home for us, and she said she could. My biological parents were supposed to pay my grandmother a certain amount, but she never received anything.
My grandmother wanted us to move from the city to the country, so we left Texas and moved to Arkansas. While she was getting things settled, she went to the bank to withdraw money from the savings accounts she had set up for each of us. There was nothing there. My mother had closed the accounts and taken all the money. This happened in the 1960s, and I assume that's why she was able to do it. I know that today she could never have closed them.
My grandmother was hurt. All three of us were hurt. Even so, it was my mother who did the hurting.
She never went to see the football games my brother played in, nor to hear the concerts of the band he played in. She was never able to hear the piano recitals I gave. She wasn't at my wedding, nor was she there when my two daughters were born. She never got to meet her granddaughters. All by her own choice.
My grandmother was the one we loved and honored until the day she passed away. She lived to be 97, and losing her was the hardest day of my life. We had "Forever in our hearts" engraved on her headstone, and that's how we continue to feel. She was our angel.
I wanted to attach a photo of us and my grandmother from the last time we were all together. She was in her early 90s and the three of us were adults. That was many years ago, but her teachings and love will last forever.

Two years ago yesterday, my Dad, Jay, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. My family faced both unimaginable loss and shock, and as my uncle and I stood on the deck after the funeral home left, we assumed everything on the farm would just have to be put on hold while we figured out what to do next.
The next morning as Danielle and I drove back out to the farm with our boys, we saw dust already rising in the fields as a large crew local farmers jumped in to help, putting their own harvest on hold.
Nearly 30 combines, dozens of trucks, tractors, augers, and grain carts filled our land. The local dealership sent mechanics to handle equipment, the bulk dealer kept every tank fueled, a group of ladies cooked meals to keep everyone going, and there were countless others who simply showed up and asked what they could do. In just 48 hours, more than half a season’s work was finished, and our entire harvest was safely taken off.
Seeing some of the toughest farmers and ranchers you’ll ever meet working through tears for our family was an act of grace that is almost impossible to fully comprehend. It was an absolute miracle and a blessing from God. During that time, as my family saw this unfold, I learned that years earlier, my dad had quietly helped organize the exact same kind of harvest support for another neighbor who had fallen on hard times, and my late grandfather had done the same at another earlier time. This is testimony to the legacy of both our family and community.
And so again, to our incredible community located here in the Special Areas, and to everyone who carried my wife, Danielle, me and our boys, along with my mom, Jodi, my two grandmas, Uncle Darren, my brother and sisters, and our whole family when we couldn’t stand on our own: thank you.

The Republicans case for midterms is literally this:
Yes we lied, yes we are ineffective, yes we backpeddled on almost everything, yes we are gaslighting you, yes things are getting worse with no end in sight, but if you don't vote for us again you love men in women's sports, you're poor, you love terrorism and you clearly hate America.

There was a time and place where guys like Christian Craighead were granted lands and titles for what they did, rather than be ostracized by their country.
I long for those days.

Most supposed predicaments are really just problems that can be solved by being harsh to the guilty
For example, the rhinos are going extinct, and have been since decolonization removed good governance from Africa
Is the extinction of megafauna inexorable? No. Death squads targeting poachers solve it, and protect God's grandest creatures
That same sort of "fix everything easily switch" solution applies to everything, from pitbulls to property crime, as our ancestors knew
It just requires summoning the proper amount of will
