This is important. @GoI_MeitY, other ministries and departments need to immediately stop giving away lowest bid tenders for all infrastructure immediately.
If we want to be taken seriously by others and our own population you better start acting like it. Internet infra is just like roads, railways, power and communications. Lapses like this should have heads rolling, not given a shield. Stop making a mockery of this extremely severe incident. Downplaying this raises serious concerns on your own competence in comprehending the fallout of this incident.
eMudhra needs to be severely fined and replaced with a competent entity.
Infra needs expertise to run and the crop of pathetic and incompetent UPSC/PCS/PSU hirings has left gaps too large to ignore. World is watching and holding you accountable. You can't just scold everyone into believing whatever you are saying. Not everyone is out there to 'get' you. You messed up, acknowledge it, fix it.
Lord give me the same confidence to talk about all things I know nothing about as you did to Yuval Noah Harari.

@Virendra0698 you deserve accolades for fueling this engine!
we transformed the most dirtiest garbage dump in bangalore to a footpath with the great tiranga flag and HAL tejas on the walls, in less than 10 days.
a lot of you have asked to share what steps did we take to make this happen so @arunpaiblrwalks and i made a video about it.
this was a joint effort between @GBA_office and civilians.
Wise words. Our agents likes us needs to keep the metaphorical touching grass.
Us Indians are misdirecting our energies against the political legislative personnel when the real problem rests squarely in the executive bureaucratic levels. The incompetence of UPSC/SSC/Services class at pretty much everything they do is the sandbag preventing double digit growth and positive market sentiments. A pressure demand for firing them should yield better results.
Someone with weekend full of time on their hand, help the world rid of HP Printer firmware and software. Generational karma points await.
the fact that we know this, even if it were a complete speculation, which I think is not, is mental
I was thinking of this earlier and best I came up was token messenger, but meat proxy is genius. Can already foresee this taking over the general vocabulary like a memetic wildfire 🤌
An image that is possibly an essay in itself. Very few things in life illustrate the equivalence of grandeur of nature and persistence of man in such detail.
Thank you @astro_anil for this inspiring shot.
If not the biggest, but one of the biggest reasons to come up with a completely alternative architecture to intelligent machines is to not be citation pulled by Schmidhuber et. al. and that is a high bar.
One step forward two step back. When you pause for a moment to collect your thoughts about the state of affairs of Indian State, it becomes clearer that it's the incompetence of the unelected that is disproportionately more harmful than the unaccountability of the elected.
Decisions by committee and collegium would have had some merit if it was made up with candidates who'd often had touch grass, and it may have been so early on when nation was building. The multi-generational, nepotic, perk ingesting, insulation of appointments and selections of these committees and collegiums keeps getting thicker every passing year. Getting to today that it has become impregnable to smog, fire, flood, crashes, famines, riots, apathy and humiliation that every other ordinary citizen of country has accepted as fate.
Close to 80 years since we granted ourselves the universal adult franchise, but we still wait to be treated as adult to this day (barring exceptions when tax and fines are to be collected or needed to be tried under law). The insulated body of elite educated, Bar accepted, well travelled, selected by commissions, of nannies decide what and how we see, read, talk, spend, pray and in general live under the protection of this great State.
So here we are, back to work, relieved that champion of protests of this decade has been pacified and hopefully healthy too. His demands for justice from the elected ministry given cognisance and considered for general parliamentary discussion too. And as the citizenry we wait for next hunger games champions that will bite the bullet to ask for accountability and freedom from the tyranny of the unelected.
#BREAKING #SupremeCourt bans the posting or uploading of audio-video recordings of Court proceedings without the prior permission of the concerned Court.
Bench led by CJI Surya Kant passes an interim order that "there shall be no extraction, modification, dissemination, posting, re-posting, uploading or monetisation of audio/video recordings of the judicial proceedings on social media or other digital platforms without the prior permission of the Registrar General of the concerned High Courts or the Secretary General of the Supreme Court."
SC clarifies that the order has no effect on news reporting.

An adaptive 'intelligent' system should be able to settle on whatever substrate that is available to it. Reasoning, thus becomes a discovered (or even invented) priors of this adaptive system and provided substrate.
I try to think of reasoning as that (meta) probabilistic program discovery task that on roll-out picks 'correct' distribution hill to sample from for an objective.
Natural language is a fascinating render of a probabilistic program acting as the fuzzy bridge between continuously observed world and its discrete features deemed important to become hilltops in this canvas of distributions - but it is just that, another programming framework and not the program discovery or synthesis engine itself.
In such a regime, reasoning is an artifact parallel to natural language itself and can be used as a tool in reasoning, and not necessarily a dependency of it.
For a reasoning language model which is 'intelligent' but not adaptive this substrate is the constraint of natural language. It's a useful constraint that simulates language as dependency of reasoning.
Nice paper, it'd be nicer if it was titled as '...Language of Thought is not just Natural Language'.
This new PNAS paper is so interesting!
The authors asked a fascinating question: Do we need language to reason logically?
They combined brain imaging in healthy adults with tests of two rare patients who had extensive damage to the brain's language network and profound aphasia.
Both patients showed severe grammatical impairments, often performing at or near chance on language assessments.
Yet their logical reasoning remained remarkably intact.
They could infer hidden rules governing transformations of number sequences, solving 19/25 and 39/40 problems.
They also excelled at nonverbal matrix reasoning, scoring 25/30 and 26/30—well above age-matched norms.
The brain-imaging results pointed in the same direction. Neither inductive nor deductive reasoning substantially recruited the language network.
The conclusion is powerful: natural language is not the medium of formal logical thought.
Language allows us to communicate thoughts, but it is not necessarily the machinery that produces them.
We can express understanding through language. But linguistic competence, by itself, is not evidence of understanding.
I think it is crucial to keep this distinction in mind in an age in which fluent machines are increasingly mistaken for thinking machines.

Context switching while found metabolically cheap is structurally expensive process for the brain. The context switch lag elicits stress response, which the feeling of 'draining'. While the whole system is local and not bound by von neumann bottleneck, the price is concurrency.
Can virality be engineered, and is build something people want enough? Or do people want to themselves build what people want in the age empowered by language model agents? Is social media and brand monetization the only end result of virality of a product.

Of all the hype events out there, this one has alpha worth latching on to
One nTop engineer set up a CFD pipeline, walked away, and came back to 12,000 completed simulations. 2,400 drone geometry variants, 5 angles of attack each, 280 GPUs fully saturated the entire run. No restarts, no manual fixes, no one watching it.
