The Seven Deadly Sins hacker group claims to have breached Canva and stolen over 200 million database rows. The allegedly compromised data includes 2 million Salesforce CRM records, enterprise licensing data, order-related PDFs, and data warehouse information.
The group also claims that the stolen data has already been sold to a private buyer.

An Apache Iceberg table looks like a regular table when you query it, but beneath the surface…well, it’s like an iceberg. 😅
Underneath, you’ll find a small tree of files: one JSON file at the top, a few layers of Avro files in the middle, and Parquet files at the bottom. When something is slow or looks wrong, it helps to know what’s in that tree.
DuckDB can read all three formats, so you can inspect every layer with plain SQL. In this post, we create a small Iceberg table, change it a few times, and then walk through the files from the top down: duckdb.org/2026/10/13/inside…

We just released Polars 2.0.
It removed many of our legacy decisions makes the streaming engine our default and promotes SQL to a first class citizen within Polars.
It comes with initial out-of-core (spill to disk) support, a new Map data type and a lot of performance improvements. In fact, we think Polars is now one of the fastest analytical SQL engines on a single node. See benchmarks in the post: pola.rs/posts/release-polars…
