Thank the Lord
With great joy, I congratulate my dear brother President Lula @LulaOficial on his historic fourth presidential election victory and the renewed trust of the Brazilian people.
We share a simple but profound conviction. Politics must improve people’s lives, uphold their dignity and bring hope to those too often left behind. That commitment to social justice remains at the heart of our work.
I look forward to strengthening the friendship between Barbados and Brazil as we continue building a fairer, more inclusive and peaceful world.
May God continue to guide and strengthen you, dear brother. There is much work ahead, and much good still to be done!

This is what is happening now right now in Europe and the US. If you align with the far right you’re essentially licking the boot that is stomping your face into the mud. This is a class war. It’s always been a class war. Your choice is resistance or submission.

Young miss Joy Kapengele❤️ – at Zambia
On the 62nd year of Independence I thought I'd remind everyone about some fun facts about #Zambia and some facts about why it was important to break free of our colonial chains.
- Our Freedom Statue has a name - Zikomo Banda
- One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World is actually called Mosi-oa-tunya (the smoke that thunders) and this is the official name registered at UNESCO
- The 24th of October is the official date for the beginning of the Rainy Season. The date was chosen as it symbolised the washing away of the harsh dry season (colonialism) and the beginning of a new season - fresh and green (independence)
- At Independence Zambia had less than 100 University graduates
- Kalingalinga is chilaplapa for the place where seasonal workers would linger to get a job (ka linger linger) and for those in Kopola land, Chamboli was the mispronounced word for the location where the Boy Scouts of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland held their annual 'Jamboree'.
- Prior to independence Zambians were not allowed into shops or butcheries. We had to shop from a small window and we were not allowed to buy any prime cuts of beef, offals, brisket and oxtail only .... EVEN if we could afford it.
- It is still illegal to splash a pedestrian because colonial motorists used to deliberately splash us with their cars.
- Zambians were forced to have English first names under threat of imprisonment - hence our colourful English names like Landrover, Crankshaft, Pencil and Paper. It was most enforced in Eastern Province and part of 'parole' was planting mango trees, which is why there are millions of mango trees in Eastern Province (we tried to resist)
I could go on but 62 years on we now face an even bigger challenge and that is to lift millions of our citizens out of poverty. We need to put aside petty differences and all pull in the same direction.

His question would have still carried weight if he didn’t bring in the aspect of Mr Mwewa “never experiencing poverty”.
Look, I don’t like people who try and make others feel bad about being privileged, thats just how life is.
Someone can be privileged and still be a good person.
I also love the fact that his answer was solid, society shouldn’t bend the rules just so a small section of people can feel better about themselves.
Privilege is not a crime guys!

Kanabesa,a 49 kilogram Zambian emerald specimen worth an estimated $1.2b to $2.4b is trending globally, but somehow Zambia seems not to know about it, and we are looking to borrow $1.8b kaloba..😭
Integrity is integrity
We often forget that we dont have to be a whole 'Mother Theresa', just do your bit to make other people's lives a bit better. Well done @KraljicJelena and @MpotoYathu
Together, we can make a difference.

Lusberg has come from far. Even carpaccio sandwiches 🥪
Nina's Kousina at The Souk on Leopards Hill Road is a world class Deli. Only problem is 'if you snooze you lose'... fresh food flies out the window so fast and that's that.. you miss out until the next day.

In 1947, during the Chinese Civil War, 32 women from a small village learned that an advancing army needed to cross a river to reach the battlefield.
They tore the wooden doors off their homes, carried them into the freezing water, and stood there for hours holding them up to form a human bridge while approximately 2,000 soldiers crossed with all their equipment.
Without their help, the soldiers would have had to wade through the river and enter battle in soaking wet clothes, risking hypothermia, sickness and death.
Historical accounts describe soldiers being so moved by the women’s sacrifice that they initially hesitated to step onto the bridge. The women urged them forward. The soldiers understood what these women were sacrificing for them.
There’s a lesson here about the gender war.
When men and women are united by a common struggle, they develop a profoundly deep love and respect for one another.
I think we need that again.

The Caribbean cannot continue to be rich in ideas, rich in talent and rich in creativity, but poor in the opportunities that allow our people to turn those ideas into wealth.
We have approximately US$80 billion in savings across this region. The question, therefore, is how we put more of that Caribbean capital to work for Caribbean people.
With their tacit acceptance of the Gaza Holocaust, the collective West have sadly relinquished the moral high ground for a long time to come.
China threw the table over at the United Nations, singling out and rebutting—one by one—the UK, Australia, Japan, Ireland, the Czech Republic, and Lithuania for stigmatizing China’s human rights record.
The era of the West saying “human rights” and expecting China to bow is over.
Chinese people are no longer impressed by moral vocabulary detached from material reality.
Fix your poverty.
Fix your racism.
Fix your collapsing trust.
Fix your own people’s lives.
China has never needed—and does not need—to model its human rights standards on the West’s so-called human rights.
China’s conception of human rights is grounded in a reality where people can live and work with security and dignity, where the country is prosperous and strong, and where national dignity means no one gets to dictate to China or sit in judgment over it.
What the West calls “human rights” is not a crown.
It is a slogan they keep wearing to hide the cracks underneath.
The West turned “human rights” into a certificate it issues to itself.
China no longer recognizes the issuing authority.
Old people still have a role in society.

George Galloway on the prosecutions of those protesting the Gaza genocide in Britain: "The 94-year-old Jewish lawyer, who is a friend of Miliband's mother, was lifted and carried away on terrorism charges because she held a sign... Thousands, many of them elderly, are awaiting trials on terrorism-related charges simply for holding signs."
