i casually say "thanks, have a nice flight" to the gate agent when they scan my boarding pass as we're boarding; the best is when they reply "you too"

Here's a minorly fun, if relatively elementary, fact: If something has a 1/N probability of success and you try up to N independent times, the probability you ever succeed is not 100% but rather, in the limit of large N, is 1 - 1/e, just above 63.2%.

Some junior high school English textbooks in Japan may need to be changed because they contained passages praising interpreter Ippei Mizuhara as a role model who helps & supports Shohei Ohtani: youtube.com/watch?v=Fqafiq5S…
Video: Shohei Ohtani, his wife Mamiko, and Will Ireton at Incheon International Airport today. Ireton is acting as a replacement for interpreter Ippei Mizuhara, who has been accused of stealing millions of dollars from Ohtani's bank account. teapaw.org/pettobotoru2000/status…

Kamen Rider Geats is coming to blu-ray in America!😎 I've always strived to make Kamen Rider more available for fans overseas, and now to see another Rider show coming to blu-ray, that I am also in... Absolute madness! Pre-order it now!

It's weird to me that "who watches the watchmen?" is from an ancient Roman stand-up set someone wrote down, where Juvenal says he can't get married because he'd be so worried about his wife cheating on him he'd have to hire a watchman, but then she'd just boink the watchman
