It can't be overstated: a random, literal-who Indian company just utterly broke security across a swathe of technology. It's going to be the Wild West for a lot of stuff until it's fully patched. There will be things never patched.

Millions of IoT devices, Docker containers, forgotten Linux machines, unmaintained CLI tools, etc. are all going to be relentlessly hacked via safely signed malware for the next several years or maybe indefinitely. eMudhra hack might be the most important event of the year.

I'm sitting on the back porch, when suddenly my wife comes out, "Where's my duck?!" Puzzled, our lake attracts ducks, none domesticated. "You have a duck?" Not missing a beat, lets out a loud QUACK! Here it comes, sprinting/yelling from around the barn. she's adopted a duck.
