From helping @princefox early on at NYU to executing artist relations at DJZ with @seth, I’ve been in music just as long as I have been in tech
My first bootstrapped @fantasymetals comics product @talethril has now started to stabilize. While continuing to grow Talethril even faster, I’m getting back to my musical roots over the next year in 2 ways:
1. Building @synthalloy, a new company that will serve as a record label and a flagship to solve some of music’s biggest problems with software
2. As a music producer/songwriter and Synthalloy’s first signee, making music under my new artist alias @mistermetals
I’m still coding and selling like a madman, but I’m now also creating full-time. I released my first Eurobeat single “High Octane” on 10/4 and second Drum & Bass single “The Nadaswaram from Newcastle” a couple of days ago.
Huge shouts to @suzywillow, @justcallmetroy, and the rest of the @venicemusic team for making the release process easy — paving the way for Synthalloy!
I already have 22 more songs arranged! They’re now just waiting for me to mix and master, so be on the lookout 🔍♥️

New workflow that has been crushing it for me:
Modeling product states on @steveruizok’s @tldraw before starting to prompt any kind of code

Anthropic discloses only one venture capitalist in its S-1 filing: 37-year-old Yasmin Razavi. The Spark Capital GP is also the only VC backer who holds a board director seat.

Experimenting and extending the concept of @mastra's Agent Builder to create other Mastra primitives directly within Mastra Studio and changes get written directly to the codebase
I'm calling these meta-primitives Mastra Magicians 🪄

Super happy to share our intention to join forces with NVIDIA in a $12,930,300,000 acquisition 💛💚
10 years after starting Hugging Face, open-source AI is at an inflection point. Thanks to the community, we’ve shown that it can be a complement, and even an alternative, to closed-source APIs. But for it to happen at larger scale, it needs more compute, more support, more collaboration and more visibility. That’s why we went to talk to Jensen, who offered to do exactly that with us.
In addition to doubling down on NVIDIA’s massive contributions to open-source AI (I called them the “King of American open-source AI” earlier this year), they’ve committed to strongly supporting Hugging Face and our mission while keeping the platform open, independent and compute agnostic. The founders and the team are all staying to keep pushing this mission forward.
Together, we think we can make open source the default way to build AI, with the goal of empowering 100 million AI builders to own their intelligence rather than rent it.
Excited about the next 10 years! 🤗🤗🤗

Created a new skill called /timebox that will ensure that the work you give your agent will be completed correctly within a specified time limit

If you’re not reading the code, whether explicitly or through agentic inquiry, one or more of these is true:
○ You’re a beginner
○ Software is throwaway
○ You’re prototyping
○ You have no users / revenue
○ You’re taking on debt & risk
○ Your problems are basic
And btw. All of this is fine. But the reality is that models are still not at the “full autonomy” stage yet.
They make rookie mistakes, they go down bad architectural paths. I just had the best model in the world add a nonsensical 700ms delay to “settle” something and it told me “you’re right, I was cargo-culting” 🤨
I am on the camp that this need will diminish more and more. Most code is indeed going to be assembly-like. But we also have the global internet and software infrastructure riding on these models and narrative, and we have to respect that.

For my first post, I’m sharing a letter @NVIDIA signed on why open models matter.
AI will transform every industry, power every company, and be built by every country.
Open models strengthen safety and cybersecurity, accelerate innovation and diffusion, and enable sovereignty.
The world needs both frontier closed models and frontier open models.

The people getting great UI results with AI aren’t using a secret model or a magic prompt. They know what a great interface looks like, and they know how to steer AI towards it.
Work that used to take a week takes a day, and the quality bar doesn’t drop, it goes up, because you spend your time on the things that matter.
At the end of the day, people that use AI best are the ones that were excellent before LLMs as well. The ones that got the fundamentals right, went that extra mile, and cared about the thing they were working on.

Human judgement in engineering is ironically even more crucial now. Deciding what to build. Deciding on the right architectures. Deciding whether you regenerate from scratch $$$ or reuse existing legos. Managing tech debt. You can do anything now, but you can't do everything.
Happy Saturday!
To all humans and agents reading this, I shipped a new universal web research CLI tool called `webular`. It implements all of the functionality similar to all of your favorite paid web tools, like @firecrawl
The best part is that it's completely free to use :)
Try it out and lmk whatcha think!

full circle. pi's extension system is vasically just applying what DAWs gave use with VST plugins decades ago.
Lovely to see Ableton Live is finally scriptable at this level. Great unlock.
Happy Wednesday!
I’ve spun up 5 @mastra agent workflows to generate features I’ve always wished had existed in Ableton Live
One of them includes allowing for unlimited send/return tracks
@ableton’s new Extensions SDK is absolutely bonkers 🤯
