First in my bloodline to ride a robot.
And that too a made-in-India robot!
Strider Robotics (@strider_robots) has built a tank of a quadruped.
Their M3 can:
- Lift an adult human
- Tow a car with passengers
- Right itself after being flipped
- Climb stairs with a 40 kg payload
We visited Strider at ARTgarage (ARTPARK, IISc) to see M3 for ourselves.

We are glad to be featured by @CNBCTV18News as we work towards deploying autonomous robotic inspection solutions for industrial environments.
Why is a robot pulling a car in Bengaluru? 🤖🚗
And why are engineers next door trying so hard to break their own drones?
@Aish_19_Anand went inside to find out 🎥

🚨 Bengaluru-based Strider Robotics (@strider_robots) just demonstrated their M3 quadruped's ability to pull a Honda Amaze. The car had two passengers (one holding the handbrake for safety). Nobody was in the driver's seat and the engine was switched off.

The Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, Prof. @AjaySoodIISc, visited @artparkindia at the @iiscbangalore, Bengaluru, with Prof. Govindan Rangarajan, Director, IISc.
Prof. Sood was apprised of ARTPARK’s initiatives and its ongoing efforts to foster innovation and advance emerging technologies. During the visit, Prof. Amrutur Bharadwaj, IISc, and Mr Raghu Dharmaraju, CEO, ARTPARK, accompanied Prof. Sood and delivered a presentation on ARTPARK’s research and innovations in robotics and embodied AI, followed by demonstrations by the startups.
The ARTPARK ecosystem brings together 40+ in-house deep-tech startups and innovation teams working across diverse technology domains, including defence and aerospace, embodied AI, agri-tech, space technology, industrial applications, and advanced manufacturing. These startups are developing innovative solutions and advancing technologies from early-stage prototypes towards scalable applications.

This ARTPark, IISc-incubated startup's quadrupled can carry the weight of an adult male.
Unreal progress from an Indian company founded in 2024.
Note: @strider_robots is a spin-off from the Stochastic Robotics Lab (StochLab) at the Centre for Cyber-Physical Systems at IISc.
🚨 Bengaluru-based Strider Robotics (@strider_robots) is building autonomous quadrupedal robots that will be used for industrial inspection.
Their latest prototype, M3, carries 20 kg of payload and is built in-house with 80% indigenously sourced materials.

This startup has built their own robot dog with a team of just 15 people.
They even built the actuators that went inside this dog.
All 12 of them.
And they did all of this from India.
While their dog can carry up to 20 kg of payload, they've successfully tested it with 40 kg of payload.
And they've already managed to build their dog with 80% of the parts sourced locally.

Fun fact: They make their own actuators.
This is the image of the actuator that's inside M3 and there are 12 of them in there.
Configured with a 40 kg payload, our #quadruped #robot demonstrates stable sit-to-stand recovery, controlled locomotion, and mobility under load.
Every test brings us closer to reliable #autonomous robots for real-world applications.
