BULAWAYO–VICTORIA FALLS ROAD REHABILITATION: 73.4KM COMPLETED By Structure & Design THE Rehabilitation of the Bulawayo–Victoria Falls Road is progressing, with 73.4 kilometres completed to date and all eight contractors back on site as Government pushes to improve the key transport route. Taking to his X account, Information Ministry Permanent Secretary, Nick Mangwana said each contractor was targeting to rehabilitate at least 20 kilometres by December 2026. “Rehabilitation is underway right now on the Bulawayo–Victoria Falls Road, with all eight contractors back on site, each targeting at least 20 km by December 2026. "Works are being carried out in phases-bush clearing, detours, earthworks, drainage, surfacing and widening," said Mangwana. Mangwana added that the journey currently takes up to 15 hours. "This won't be completed overnight, but Government is committed to the project and prioritizing it, with the Ministry intensifying monitoring of scope, progress and quality. To date, 73.4 km has been rehabilitated. The project will improve safety, cut travel time and boost connectivity between Bulawayo, Hwange and Victoria Falls-currently a 15-hour journey. Motorists are advised to exercise caution at construction zones". 📸 @InfoMinZW #StructureAndDesign #RoadInfrastructure #Zimbabwe #Construction
