Not true. Whether in ED or wards, I can contact on-call ENT colleagues to book an outpatient follow-up for hospital patients, similar eye clinic, gynae & ortho. In some places also for derm, rheum, resp, neuro. But it varies by hospital.

YNOT festival @ynotfestival How many people do you have staying at Paradise Peaks campsite this weekend ? #YNOTfestival There are effectively just 2-3 taps for fresh water at the same sink. Excessively long wait times for the toilets > 1 hour and the same for the showers

For what it's worth I think many grass roots GPs look upto you and are in awe at your honesty. It takes a lot to stand up and say things when everyone else has sipped the kool-aid. We all need to be a lot more you. xitter.cf/Parody_RCGP/status/207…
There aren’t many who are truly principled. Who aren’t swayed by the wowness of being part of a club. Whose fundamental core belief can not be dampened or gaslit into submission. Hat tip. If we were all a lot more like her the world would be a better place.

My husband was "diagnosed" with COPD by an A&E Physician's Associate. And then we had to wait nearly a year for further tests to show that "diagnosis" was wrong. But with no feedback loop to A&E that PA continues to think themselves more competent than they are. Terrifying.

My appointment has come through for a gynae appt…. Only 2yrs to go! Isn’t it funny how even 2yrs from now I know I won’t be able to make this as it’s my daughter’s 18th birthday that day! 🤣 Waiting lists coming down are going really well🤦🏼‍♀️ #NHS

Is is true @wesstreeting that GPs are getting fined for going "too" digital? I've heard of a £4k fine for a surgery sending "too many texts" to their patients Tell me this isn't true? @PrivateEyeNews @Parody_RCGP @DrSteveTaylor @DrShanHussain @ankitkant @dave_dlt

This was what my old practice found when it came to needing a new premises. The bit of government that makes the rules how much space you get for size of patient list, has not joined up with the one that's been paying for PCNs to hire ARRS staff for years. Nowhere near big enough

Palantir claims that for every £1 that is spent £5 is returned. Did you know that for every £1 spent on GPs, £14 is returned back! Yet we have the lowest funding in a decade - they are taking money from us to pay Palantir! This is not parody.
.@louismosley says in just two years, Palantir has helped the NHS: — Give 110,000 operations patients wouldn’t have had otherwise — Reduced discharge delays by 15% — Increased number of patients who get notified of a cancer diagnosis within 28 days by 6.8% “We’re delivering £5 for every £1 the government has spent.” “We’re delivering for patients.” Via @BBCPolitics

So, in 90 minutes and one coffee, I built this. (Thanks @giles_home for the nudge). A patient-facing eligibility checker for tirzepatide. It gives patients clarity and gives GPs breathing space. It isn't ready for launch as it needs QA.

Ask yourself why your thoughts aren't "Why can't a CQC registered specialist provide me with a prescription for a treatment that I need? Why does a GP have to be involved?" The argument for involving a GP isn't that great in a world where records are shared.

So many of us are itching to fix system problems. There are so many quick wins. So many. We understand the system like no one else. Let’s fix one problem a week. Make us accountable. If it doesn’t show improvements in outcomes fire us.
Please won’t those at the top just fund Ankit for 3 hrs a week to solve so many of your problems in a way which doesn’t screw over Team GP?

Delighted to announce opening of my new practice ! Appointments opening soon - join the wait list! For too long we have demanded evidence from trials before we act - this is just causing needless delays in ACTIONABLE INSIGHT GENERATION. Instead we will offer:/

Over COVID the vaccine centres cost 3 x more than the GP to deliver the vaccine. THey were celebrated with awards and acolades. Many GP surgeries found that they actually were personally paying to deliver vaccines to their patients. Actually losing money for each one given.
