I see Garden City Walks as a kind of "anti-hustle" movement. A pocket of time where we walk slowly, we do *not* complete 10K steps.
Instead, we stop, look up, look close.
On this week's MG Road walk, we will relive the founding of the Garden City...

And, of course, we'll do on our walks what my co-founder Radha and I love best--gasp at the beauty of not just flowers but seedpods and leaf-shapes.
We can be curious children again.

We have 3 walks in November in iconic neighbourhoods, but we hope to er, "branch out" everywhere in the city soon
I travelled to Rajasthan soon after this movie, heard the original (more fabulous) song. The singers were complaining about the appropriation

I thought this was a myth but no, it finally happened. I walked into a store and a man named Phillippe took one look at me and started bringing me endless vintage Levis that fit me PERFECTLY. I tried to give his wife my measurements and she said "oh, he doesn't need those.” I had to talk myself down from buying eight pairs
Lovely! My poetry circle, 🔖Rhyme & Rasam, is on the list for next Friday evening at @AttaGalatta . This is for all those who are scarred by school poetry. Join us to read more modern, accessible work from around the world.
And yes, sometimes there is rasam to drink!

this is what I mean by civic sense being a design issue, not an inherent human flaw. people will follow rules as long as you make it convenient for them to follow, and as a designer, you absolutely can and should make it happen
People are more likely to do something when it’s easy and convenient. This simple transparent holder for used tickets on Metro Line 1-is a great example. Passengers punch out and drop their tickets in it instead of throwing them around, keeping the station clean. Sometimes, the simplest ideas work best.

huge update: all the garbage along wind tunnel road has been cleared. the ward assistant general manager from BSWML has promised to clear the debris and the rubble next. once that is done, they will beautify the space over the weekend. i will make sure they do.
good to see the HAL person happy : )
separately, my next step is to talk to BSWML top level on how do we enforce civic sense and regular garbage collection. this cannot become a dumping yard again.
hi @madhuriadnal, thanks for recording this. i just spoke to mr. bhimesh (BWSML deputy general manager) to get this cleared up asap. BWSML said this will be done early morning tomorrow because the garbage collecting folks work until 2:30 PM.
they’ve promised to send pictures/videos after getting this done. i got in touch with him using iknowaguy.help/bangalore/fin……. let’s see what happens.

Nobody talks about the psychological damage of watching something you spent 15 years learning become a button.
