truly inspiring to see the way airbnb hosts that believed the “passive income” talk manage to cognitively reconcile jerking each other off about what hardworking hustlin’ entrepreneurs they are while also openly complaining about having to do anything that requires effort

my halloween costume has like egregious playboy bunny ass and cleavage for maybe the first time in my life so I’m wearing a huge trenchcoat so i can throw it open violently like a park flasher and freak everyone out upon halloween party arrival
the nightmare before christmas is one of the most beautiful things disney ever produced, it’s such a shame there’s no way they’re ever going to touch something like it again
the real villains of the nightmare before christmas are the children for being ungrateful when the people of halloween town really made a big effort and tried their best
if you’ve never been to a real b+b i highly recommend it. they’re generally affordable, charming, and the precise inverse hospitality experience to an airbnb. also because the hosts have interests beyond pure real estate extractivism they aren’t huge whiners about everything
its just bonkers the new policy @airbnb is trying to put in place. Putting the dishes in the dishwasher, taking out the trash, pulling the sheets off the bed....they are just standard things any normal person would do when staying at a house. Why wouldn't a host be allowed to say that?

Having fun isn't hard and I think people should understand that this mentality — that there are huge barriers to entry into being creative or interacting with other people — is being destructively exploited by the tech industry.
