Uh, yeah I’ve seen enough. I’ve been meaning to migrate to flat-file static pages so I guess that just got moved up the priority list.

My servers are ready. 🔥
🚨 BREAKING: PHP is warning admins to prepare for emergency security updates tomorrow to fix two critical vulnerabilities rated CVSS 9.2. However, security researchers at @watchtowrcyber rate the flaws CVSS 10.0 and say they are RCE vulnerabilities affecting PHP 5 through 8. Information about the vulnerabilities has reportedly leaked ahead of disclosure. No known exploitation in the wild. 🔗 bleepingcomputer.com/news/se… bleepingcomputer.com/news/se…

Currently rage baiting a tier 1 into figuring out his own issue. How it’s going:

Coworker was bitching about his furnace breaking down and I said “Don’t use a Lennox furnace, use a FreeBSD furnace”, which was met with a blank stare. I’m done and I want to go home.

I absolutely hate when apps ask me if I enjoy using them and beg for a review. No Duo, I don’t enjoy using your app because I’m not at home with my cat, I’m at work…using your shitty auth.

Hey reverse engineers, definitely under no circumstances reverse engineer Atlassian products. It would be absolutely terrible if you provided a free, open source alternative to their tooling.

A Red Hat engineer used Claude Code to reverse-engineer Windows hardware support and bring it to Linux. Christian Schaller bought a film scanner, only to discover its newer chipset didn’t work on Linux. After months of failed attempts, he gave Claude access to a Windows virtual machine running the manufacturer’s driver. Claude analyzed the USB traffic to help reproduce the scanner’s behavior on Linux. Within hours, Schaller had his first recognizable scan. He then used a similar approach to fix problems with his ThinkPad’s camera, producing patches for the Linux kernel and libcamera. The scanner driver remains a proof of concept, and the camera fixes are going through submission and review. He also released hw-harness so other developers can try this with their own hardware. Every result was checked on the actual devices. Full story here: blogs.gnome.org/uraeus/2026/…

I’ve been playing with this stuff in my lab. Turns out I’ve been researching and falling upwards through all of this. I like the platform engineer side of things.
I just wanted to learn Docker man 😭

The new Epic Games launcher is out (in preview) and it supports Linux. Looks like they hook into Proton to run their games. Linux gaming is becoming mainstream and I’m absolutely here for it!

Yandex uses its own custom brand of servers called OpenYard. I would hazard a guess they are close to irreplaceable in this current market due to hardware shortages. What a W move.

Hilarious. I think we all figured, but actually having a graph with datasets makes it even funnier.
If confirmed, this is telling: Russian data centres get hit, and online activity around AfD suddenly plummets. 📉 So much talk about German patriotism… then the connection from Russia goes down. 🤔🇷🇺

If people want to install crap on their system, let them. I feel the Linux community became the thing they hated. This is worse than Apple or Microsoft. Only the apps WE WANT YOU TO RUN will make it on our platform! Fuck off you absolute cunts.
Flathub (a Linux app “store” for Flatpak, heavily used by GNOME), is actively rejecting software made with AI assistance. Calls any AI influenced code “tainted”. “We see [using AI at all] as a liability (no matter how much people swear they review)”. “As long as your development and codebase rely on [AI], then it’s not super bueno.”

Apparently, DDR3 is making a comeback? I probably threw out 512GB of ECC ram, several servers and 10 laptops and desktops. I guess smoke it if you got it, but nobody is serious about buying that stuff new, right?

Reverse engineering is legal in the United States. We have a billion dollar video game company shipping a Windows compatibility layer in their product. He’ll be fine. Stop the doom posting.
"clean-room" "ported" Tell me you don't know what clean-room means 🙄 It's going to be interesting if Adobe lawyers are the beginning of the end of the presumed legality of vibe coding...

Quick Update: I misread the post and thought this was bloviating FUD. They have an interesting repo here:
I am a reverse engineer. I worked on wine/proton myself. I even signed a contract with that billion dollar video game company. Wine/proton is clean room. This is not. Not even close.
