me: star trek is gay lol
dozens of random strange men iβve never interacted with before in my replies:
so on the topic of the 1830s, is it the creation of the railroads, or the opium wars, or the ascent of Queen Victoria thatβs got this girl so geeked? I took AP US history and even I canβt find anything remotely interesting about this time periodβ¦
people with no experience in entertainment are saying the most factually inaccurate things about how ratings work, how/why shows are renewed and how marketing campaigns work and I want to crawl out of my SKIN!! please stop believing ppl just bc they say things confidently!!
the way this is so unbelievably misleading. complex shows - esp ones with tonal shifts between seasons - need carefully considered marketing plans. marketing teams identify concerns BY DESIGN and then come up with a strategic media plan to best promote the show
#OurFlagMeansDeath's marketing was concerned about the shock of violence in the show.

I feel bad for the earnest fans who are trying to get their favorite show back meanwhile they are being misled (dare I say taken advantage of) by wanna-be insider crusaders. most of the advice Iβm seeing on this app is patently bad, and anyone βon the insideβ would know better
okay I loved OFMD but I am once again begging strangers on the internet not to say things that are patently false to try and make a point
everyone loves those gurls that get drunk and tell you how much they love you, but Iβll be stone cold sober and wax on and on about how much I cherish and adore my friends right to your face and nglβ¦ I think Iβm doing it rightβ¦
yes I am literally begging for the return of filler episodes !!! bring them back!!!!
ofmd fans βgo watch 2 min or more of an OFMD episode every day/week until it gets renewedβ challenge β οΈ

anyways I loved the season finale of our flag means death! at first I didnβt know how the show could move forward from there but now Iβm so excited by the possibilities of a third season! The acting and writing were beautifully done and I canβt get that ending out of my head.
David Jenkins is clearly inspired by classic storytelling structure this season - itβs very Heroβs Journey and Ed is our hero. βDeath of a mentorβ is literally one of the steps in the journey. Izzyβs death wasnβt senseless, itβs a modern take on a very ancient way of storytelling
izzy dying is not the same as him not meaning anything to the plot. his death was VERY meaningful! these characters are surrounded by death, theyβve all seen it and theyβve all caused it. dying to protect his loved ones is perhaps the most meaningful ending he could have #ofmd
just because you dislike what happens to a character doesnβt mean it served no narrative purpose, please be so for real right now. just because itβs not what you wanted doesnβt mean it was for nothing.
relating to a character is all well and good but identifying with them so strongly that you see it as a personal attack on your identity when things happen to said character that you disagree with is actually so incomprehensible to me. #ofmd
